SF2 Mission Editor

Recommended Posts

Is there a mission builder for SF2? Well, I know there is but I don't seem to have it with my SF2+Europe+Vietnam+Israel and I can't find the tool for download

The mission editor also comes as part of expansion pack 2, so if you are planning on getting XP2, you might as well do that instead.

I also figured out I have to be at least updated to Sept 2011, I don't wanna update my game. I fear it would run too slow with fancy new fangled stuff, and what if I'm stuck with that version? What if I can't go back to whatever my patch is?

Keep your original install file, then download the patch. Run the patch and see if it affects your system. If not, you're good to go. If it does, you can always reinstall your old version.

I get around 20FPS when things get hairy, but a healthy 60FPS when things are calm. Do you think my system could handle it?

Sure, though you may want to turn down some of the effects to medium. North Atlantic may choke your system over Iceland, but otherwise you should be OK. Biggest bottleneck is probably the videocard, but it's only a brute force issue, which is why I recommended cutting back on effects.

Again, just keep your old install EXE just in case you don't like the patch.

Hey I've update all the way to the latest. It's great, I got an FPS boost, so far the only plane that has slowed me down was the F-14. I still don't know how to use the mission builder but I'll figure it out one day

If you're using the TMF Tomcat, it uses high resolution cockpit textures (in BMP, no less) that will choke an older video card. I get that on my laptop. The 3W Tomcat cockpit is much more forgiving (although not quite as nice).
