DOSBox for EF2000 (DOSBox-EF2K in development)

Recommended Posts

Releasing a "beta" version of DOSBox-EF2K, a custom dosbox build specifically optimized for EF2000 (software and 3dfx modes). Included in the archive are instructions. However, I didn't include ef2000 documentation because of the 18 megabyte file size (if combat.sim allows for large file uploads, then I could upload the documentation, too).

Great! Will try it as soon as I can.

It's time to look at new baseline for EF Reloaded, so this may help.

The current version of the EF Dosbox build misses some sound aspects that Home Fries was asking for. maybe ypur fluidsynth patch contains the necessary functionality. I did try to complie the needed parts of SDL_Sound, but as far as I know, only two people on the planet are capable of it. :)

Thanks! You've developed a lot of novel features in integrating dosbox with EF2000. It's good that your work is continuing, perhaps I'll just leave the above build for testing only. I don't think I will release other versions since I'd prefer to anticipate your project updates. :)

For the next step for EF2000 Reloaded, I was hoping to do the following:

1. Take DosBox SVN3858 and apply NY00123's SDL2 patch:

http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=34770&start=20#p348998

2. ...then apply kyliew's diff of kekko's 3dfx patch to the same build:

http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=21839&p=361545#p361545

While Stage 1 works, my lack of time and understanding of C++ has hindered stage 2.

SDL2 is important in that it allows multiple windows, so that we can experiment with texture swap etc.

Any help in this area would be appreciated......
