D-Day

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to remember all the military and civilian folks who contributed to Operation Neptune, especially the Allied airmen, and infantry, and sailors who fought on this day, died on this day, and survived this day, during the D-Day landings in Normandy 74 years ago.

Wonderful photo!

God bless all those men and women who gave their lives so that others may live!

Without their sacrifices we might all be under a totalitarian regime, so let us NEVER forget!

Where would the world have gone had the Axis powers just maintained control of Europe, Asia, and the Pacific?  I think it is a scary question and one that, thankfully, we will never answer.  Sadly, we will forget the lessons of history, mankind always does.

God Bless each and every one of the soldiers, sailors and airmen who were there that day. Always will remember the privilege of meeting a friends father who was at Omaha Beach, second wave, on June 6th. Fought all the way into Germany. Got caught up in the Battle of the Bulge too. Wounded twice. He is buried with honors at the Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery. A wonderful man who became a preacher after the war.
