The missus and I watched the footage together and the consensus is that we'll put up with the heat here and NOT move to the mid-West, thank you very much!!!!! Seeing that Courthouse Tower go down was freaking scary!

Heat, heat, and more heat! Today will be 100F again, and tomorrow a possible 104F. The good news is that it's a dry heat, so I'm thankful for small mercies. But there's no end in sight for at least another two months!!

    Spitfire No. 944

What a great movie! Can't be too many guys who can watch themselves from 60 -odd years ago, and at War yet! How things have changed................"Put that cigarette out!"

Wonderful photo! God bless all those men and women who gave their lives so that others may live! Without their sacrifices we might all be under a totalitarian regime, so let us NEVER forget!
  5. Are you sure? After all, it is CNN that's reporting it, so.............................................!

    Holy disco era resurrection!

Now, where the hell did you find my old photo? That was taken when I was much younger at the "Alhambra Theatre" Friday nite Disco Special in San Francisco around 1963! Well, I'll be damned! The girl behind me finished up being my wife. Eat your hearts out, guys!

I see Stephen Hawking just died at 76. I'm sure he'll receive a heros welcome where he's going, and can throw away that wheelchair! RIP, Mr Hawking!

    Way to go, Lottie!

Hey, we're following Lotties advancement like she was our own daughter! Who knows, maybe a female VP is not beyond her reach!

How come my innocuous little post got so bloody complicated? Comes from hanging around with all you Intellectuals, I guess! Hey, just started playing "Medieval2-Total War" which I picked up for $7.99. Made in 2003, I think, but amazing graphics. The battle scenes are something else for the time it was made. Check out some YouTube videos and also another one called "Kingdom Come" which is quite recent. Don't know if I can handle all the development of the Faction stuff with the buying and selling and Political intrigues, but we'll see.

Yup! the Chives and Thyme are just fine, thanks. The Parsley is looking a bit bedraggled, but it'll pick up when the rain quits.

And from Sacramento in sunny California, it's cold (50deg), windy, (30mph), and raining, (1in last nite)! Can't wait for Spring to arrive.

The Rev. Billy Graham has died

Thank God that he's with the Lord before this stupid Planet self-destructs! Except maybe for John Hagee, he was my all-time favorite TV Minister. RIP, Dr Graham, and thank you.

    Our Schnauzer, Tehya

For what it's worth, I just want all you guys to know that this is the only Game-Specific Forum that I frequent, even after joining a couple of others over the years which I've since dropped because of the immature rants from young folks, etc. CSim is unlike many other Forums, as I'm sure you know, and I'm very proud to enjoy you all, even the seldom-appearing ones. You're a special group in my eyes! I do miss people like Gunny, and several others, but we're not all retired and looking for stuff to fill our hours, and these are even more appreciated when they do appear. OG, words can't describe my feelings for your loss, which I share since I had to put down Mindy, my Border Collie, about six years ago, due to advanced Arthritis and old age, (may I be so lucky when my time comes!). To see her being led down the hall in the Vets Office for the last time was so unspeakably traumatic for me that your Post above had me in tears, which my wife shared. Our consolation was in going out and finding a goofy, loving, crazy Malti-Poo, now called Missy, who filled the big hole after Mindy! Totally different personality, but just as lovable in her own way. And that's the answer, a replacement dog! I will never forget Mindy, but Missy filled the void in my heart and then some! God bless you, OG! Oh, and Missy says that she's sad as well!

What the hell are you guys talking about? It surely can't be about racing. RACING? Isn't that where a bunch of high-powered cars, trucks, whatever, get together and try and get to the checkered flag first? At least it was in my day. What you described, Donnie, sounds more like a politically-correct Democrat version of it, with EPA Approved gasoline, USDA Approved leather Drivers gloves, NRA Approved Exhausts, etc, etc! I really think this poor old World is going tits-up in so many ways, but I didn't think it would be this bad. Imagine if some super-wealthy guy said, "Screw this bunch of stupidity" and opened a competing track system to NASCAR where they actually RACED flat out with minimal restrictions, and old-world rules! He'd make a killing, I bet. Even the Techno-Idiots would flock to see such a novel idea. Ah, me, what old age does to your brain!
