I'd like to include "Green Zone" with one of my favorite actors, Matt Damon. See it, if you haven't.
-
Think that road's bad? You haven't seen the ones maintained by CalTrans! Great music, by the way.
-
Do I have to say it? Su.......!
-
Birthdays? You don't need no stinking Birthdays, Donnie! Well, if you must, have a BLOODY GOOD BLOWOUT, mate!!! (And please clean up afterwards, OK?)
-
Sunny......Sorry.
-
I do so wish you hadn't told me that!
-
And that was taken on a GOOD day!
-
HAHAHAHAHA! Oh, THAT's what my wife has been giving me, and I thought they were candies!
-
I even miss Donnie. I remember when he used to make bad jokes and stuff. Now he's so serious and old that I sometimes wonder if Lottie finally told him to take a hike and went to live with The Camel in the Empty Quarter for a bit of peace and quiet. Ahh, shades of Binky and Fifi are roaming through my rooms!

Well, well, Donnie, our Arab friends in Saudi Arabia have finally got around to looking at the gas prices in Iowa, have they? It's taken them long enough, hasn't it? Here in sunny Californistan we're so used to being screwed over by them and their American buddies that we just shrug our shoulders and yawn when told that such-and-such a Refinery is down for maintenance and to expect gas price hikes in a week, because we know it's a damned lie that they use to justify the hikes! As Hitler said, the public will believe anything if the lie is big enough! So suck it up, buddy, and join the great American Public who know they're being screwed but can't do anything about it because money talks louder than you and I to our elected representatives. And don't you dare make an outcry, otherwise we'll have to send Mr Holders IRS Gestapo over to have a little word with you! SHEEIT!

Completely inappropriate for me to laugh where I am at at this moment, but if I could I'd be in tears.

"That's the last time I visit that bloody dentist! Now how the hell am I going to take a leak?"

Rommel, how nice of you to drop by! Wait until I put the kettle on and you can fill us in on the latest in your neck of the woods.
As for us, well.............!
-
Hey!
Oh, Gawd, now what did I start?
-
Just sittin' back, partaking in some of your special "Herbs", munching some granola and watchin' surgery videos again eh Dr. Whizkid?
Hey, Donnie, life doesn't get any better than this, buddy! See what you've got to look forward to! Seriously, though, did you find them interesting?
-
If you've ever had a knee arthroscopy or a heart transplant you need to see thse vids, made for Medical students, I guess. I found them fascinating, but don't watch before dinner!

@Mike: GPL is amazing ... but you can get GPL 2004 Demo for through GPL Links. And here's the direct link to the download at GamersHell.
You will DESPISE GPL when you first play it, but believe me, mastering it will be one of your life's greatest and most rewarding accomplishments

@Whiz: Eye candy? We don't need no stinkin' eye candy!

@Donnie: Bite me!

I agree, Doug, but nobody masters GPL except maybe Moss and Clark! Take a look at these mods, and tell me if they don't make the game look even better! Maybe I've spent too much time looking at the scenery and not enough at my driving line!

Well, thanks to thread, GPL and GTL are on their way to me as part of my latest Amazon splurge.
It had better be worth it.

Mikew, would a fellow Simian steer you wrong? I just finished my Thursday bash with twelve (I was No. 13!) other GTL lovers around a very tricky track called Tor Kielce in Poland in a Porsche 912 for 12 laps. Then we switched to a weird German car called an NSU TT and went for another twelve laps! Great fun had by all. GPL is a great sim, and the Mods are fantastic, bringing it close to todays graphics and car physics, as Dude can attest, but for sheer Club racing fun I think GTL is the best. GTR and rFactor are more for the hotshots in their totally ripped street racers, but I don't street race any more(HAR,HAR!) I prefer a gentlemans Club Racing. When you get twlve or more Mini-Coopers screaming down the Pit straight it curls your hair, I tell you! Stans would like to experience that, I bet, but as he's follicly challenged it is far beyond him! Call on me for any install help, (I have Win7 and they both work fine). Make sure you check out the Gear Heads threads as many of the members race those sims. Have fun, Mikew.

@Whiz: I hear ya, brother ... and while I'm intrigued by GTL, I'm still making new car-control discoveries in GPL 2004 demo. As old as it is, and as corny as the graphics may be, the physics still blow me away. Years ago, Neddie Seagoon introduced me to trail braking but I didn't really grok it until recently. Now I'm trail braking and drift braking like a mad man and taking full seconds off my past best lap times.
I've tried GTL in the past, but its physics modeling didn't seem as uber-authentic as GPL's physics feel to me. But that was back when GTL was first released ... has it improved in that department?
Question for you: do you feel the physics in GTL are the same as GPL?
Yes, I do, but of course they're totally apropos to street cars, not '67 F1, so are nowhere near as twitchy or violent in reaction. Although trying to drive a brute such as a Shelby Cobra, or a DeTomaso will take a lot of skill! And, yep, trail braking and other esoteric skills will certainly help. Just get it, Doug, and trust me, you'll be surprised at the level of graphics it has now. I got mine from EBay for $9.95, I think, so no biggie if you don't like it. Let me know, eh?

Gotta love GPL

I'm with you, Doug! However, take a good look at GTL, which has way better graphics and you drive everyday cars, like BMWs, Capris, Mini-Coopers, etc, on updated tracks like Silverstone, Monza, etc. Get it at Steam really cheap, but it's light years ahead graphics and special effects wise from GPL. All Club racing, which is great and more "That's really me!" than '67 F1. The Calendar is at "GT Legends Racing Club", should you like to look. I try and race every Thursday at noon West Coast time with all the guys in England and Europe. Sometimes up to twenty guys show up!

you think for $140k they could figure out how to make one large curved screen so it doesn't look like 3 monitors screwed together!
Agreed, but I've been waiting for this screen breakthrough for a long time now, but nothing doing yet. The day this comes on the market, watch out, you'll be trampled in the rush, methinks. ArmA2Oa in a screen covering 180deg? WOOHOO!

Awwwww, not Deanna! One of my favorite stars of that era. And only 91, too. She was one sweet cookie! (That's jive talk for you young'uns!)

Sunday
in Ready Room
Posted
And a happy bloody Sunday to both of you! Don't worry, be happy! My daughter, who goes into rehab next week for alcoholism, her husband who's out of work, and their seven-year old son, who's the only bright lite in the family, have just moved in with us and are sleeping in my computer room on an air mattress! Me worry? Hell no, I'm going to stay permanently smashed until they leave, if ever. ( Runs off, singing "I'm a little teapot, short and stout, this is.................................!")
