  1. 'Lo,Neddie.Funny you should mention Falcon 4.I just dusted off Janes F\A-18 and loaded it up. Seems that there are still quite a few people still enamored with jet sims, and some nice add-ons have been made. I still can't get the learning curve required for these things, though. In fact,I find trying to learn the avionics and esoteric commands to fight in them gives me a headache! I guess my mind is a half-century behind,as everything happens too bloody fast! Give me a nice old Hurricane any time! Well,I'll give it a go for a while, but I think it's back to CFS3 quite soon.

  2. Truly a sad day for me. Of all the actors I've admired,he was my favorite. He and I are the same height, when younger were similar in looks, and I have also done time on the stage. As the post says,he typified the best qualities of the English hero, and my father, when alive, held him in great esteem. May God hold his spirit close. R.I.P. Mr Mills.

  3. Just installed PESE,but I'm having problems with installing the Patch 1.2. If anybody is playing this could you e-mail me so we don't bore everybody else? Also, would anybody be interested in taking Operation Flashpoint and CFS2 and IL2 w/AEP off my hands? Never play them any more, but I'd like 'em to go to one of the CSim people. Really reasonable, too.

  4. Good on you,CJ! Wait till you read the rest of the series, five I think. Seaflower is the last,I believe, and Julian's in the middle of another one. Go to the web site and sign up for the "Bosuns Chronicle" They send you an e-mail every month with a lot of neat stuff. Some great links, too.

  5. Hope some of you chaps like Age of Fighting Sail type books,as I have just finished a series by Julian Stockwin which had me up nites to get to the end of the chapter! He also has a web site which is very neat. It follows the fortunes of a young English lad who is press-ganged from a country town and eventually finds he is an excellent seaman. Damned good read!

  6. Man,CFran, you REALLY know how to stick it to a guy, don't you? That could qualify as "Cruel and Unusual Punishment" under the Geneva Convention, couldn't it? BTW,don't we all think the Gen. Con. is way out of date these days? Was probably OK for the 20's and 30's but nobody really takes it seriously anymore.

  7. There's torture, then there's torture, right? What we did in Abu Ghraib was plain macho stupidity, but "soft" torture I see no problem with. Deprive him of light and sleep, along with some really horrible Rock Music ( AC\DC or Metallica f'r instance!) along with sound tracks of people screaming ocassionally, would probably have a desired effect!
