The thread survived the week! Something without the day in the title...

Please let me know if I should stop...

Probably dragging this out a bit too far...

Good stuff. I wondered what happened to the girl that inspired that Boomtown Rats song and it seems she's still banged up after 40 years. Monday, what should I do, Mamas & Papas?, Bangles? No this, for sentimental reasons:

Back to the terrain, and I've done an experiment using VRML's Elevation Grid (1025x1025) instead of an Indexed Face Set. It's basically the same tile (mont1c_1) but is now about 10MB (6.5MB VRML, 3.5MB BMP texture) in size as opposed to a few kB. It looks much nicer though with some mild weathering effects and even nicer closer in Anyway, Lean Viewer handles it nicely. I just need to convert the other 159999 tiles now...and buy a bigger hard disk.

Hmmn, cashing in on an unfortunate event there. Unfortunately, I can't think of any more songs with 'Sunday' in the title, so here's 'Blue Sunday'....in Finnish.

Good songs! Has there been a sudden epidemic of periodontitis in your area or something? The best I could do at short notice...from the days when the art of music video making was in its infancy.

I thought Genesis were excellent from 1970 (Trespass) to 1983 (Genesis) despite the change of personnel and style. After that, meh... The peak for me was 'Selling England by the Pound' Anyway, looks like we're back to hair bands.
-
Always thought Genesis was more than the sum of its parts, but I'd guess the most 'control would come from Tony Banks. Strangely, Tony Banks is the only one that I can't think of anything they've done outside Genesis apart from the early drummers.

Thanks for the critique! I try and mix it up a bit, but it's always 'sitting in front of the PC' type stuff. I'm noticing a bit of a theme in your choices, so in the same vein...but also a bit of retaliation for not liking my second song:

If it crashes that that point, then it's a 3D problem I guess. There should be a file on your C:/ drive called 'f22.$$$' that is produced when the game crashes and it can be opened in Notepad.

Not sure how much I'll be able to participate, but let's start it off...
-
not sure it worked out quite like that...

I think you're wasting your time. The Dude hasn't visited this site for years... yes, the rest of the time they're playing this...the only band with an invisible banjo player.
-
Those last two are are bit much on a Sunday morning when I'm trying to sort out my Q2 accounts...and without being ripped off my tits on drugs. Can we tone it down a bit?

Not a big fan of the freestyle keyboard stuff that the likes of Emerson, Wakeman etc liked to do. House of the Rising Sun is a classic though, where the organ holds the whole song together. Some brilliant keyboard work in this ultra-pretentious take on Greek mythology..
-
Well, that last one certainly challenged my preconceptions of what good music should sound like.

Great! That puts Motown in its place. Nothing wrong with 1967. Love the organ sound in that Vanilla Fudge track...and this:

Nasty fire. The band's pyrotechnics set it off apparently, so kind of a tragic vertsion of 'Spinal Tap' I don't remember the 1980's being much good music-wise, probably due to having other interests at the time. From the last good Genesis album....IMHO of course.

Never owned a HOTAS, but DCS in VR with one would be awesome I'm sure. Slightly less hairy...on top at least
-
HF, good to hear from you! What's the focus of your modding talents these days? I wonder where the the term 'hair metal' came from...

This weekend has come around quick, as this thread is still on the front page...
