I thought you had the freedom to choose any time zone you wanted and not give in to government tyranny, and that was the main reason that you're allowed to keep a musket in your homestead. The USA isn't what it used to be. Oh...about 33F and overcast.

Already well into 2019 but not much to report from my side. Over the last week or so, I've been looking at Blender again...this time reading the instructions. With it, I can import the VRML version of a .3 object, modify it some way: and export the result in VRML format (I'm sure the culling problem can be easily fixed): While that was somewhat trivial, the real power is that all Blender's operations can be scripted so that it should be possible to take basic TFX information like the terrain texture, and use it to spawn some decorative objects depending on what palette index is occupying that part of the terrain. This guy is doing something along these lines here: https://www.gamedev.net/blogs/entry/2254908-creating-a-forest-scene-in-blender/ For a combat sim, we'd need a way of visualizing damage as well if that forest was napalmed. I'm not sure if this has any relevance to a game engine though, as this sort of operation might be best done at runtime rather than baked into the data which would end up orders of magnitude bigger.

...and that wasn't a particularly thick scottish accent. When George Orwell wrote '1984', he missed that people would willingly pay to fill their homes with 'always on' surveillance equipment.

With 'EF 2000 Reloaded' there is some excellent documentation produced by Home Fries detailing how to get the best out of the game. This can either be accessed from the launcher or by navigating to the !ADP folder where Reloaded is installed.

So, you got to this menu: ..and then get a 'failure' after you press 'Configure Joystick'?
-
It sounds like you haven't run the 'config' program to calibrate the joystick. There is a button for it on the 'EF2000 Reloaded' control panel.

Well, that was depressing reading... Thank goodness for Raquel Welch.

Yes, Tina S is really popular, but I seem to remember JerryC being the first of the YouTube cover guitarists to reach critical mass in terms of views. ..and with a tune from about 1680.

With a full orchestra, of course it's going to sound great. Going back to Old Guy's theme of largely unaccompanied musicians, here's a single instrument...a bloody big one though.

Some good stuff there. Donster, the background scenery in the last one looks more like Wyoming, but I totally understand if you were concentrating on the foreground.. It's great when bands sneak in some classical music in otherwise rock albums. Here, Steve Hackett is basically playing Bach's Prelude No. 1 for cello. I'm more of a keyboard fan myself, although I suppose this Harpsichord from the 1700s could be considered a guitar with a keyboard...

Canada, eh? You guys have already picked everyone I know except for Justin, Celine and Mylene. Let's take the least worst...

Then maybe you should move to Montana... https://arstechnica.com/science/2019/02/montana-legislator-introduces-bills-to-give-his-state-its-own-science/?comments=1

Great! Looks much better now.

Morning, about 41F and raining. Yes, I'm getting problems with the site with Firefox on Linux, but Microsoft Edge on a Win10 PC seems OK. Both are using the same router. A win for Microsoft telemetry! EDIT: Thankfully, Win10/Edge is just as bad as the other browsers now. Phew!

That video only dealt with the physical pain dentists inflict. It ignored the true terror of receiving the bill. Here's a song that Supertramp's lawyers haven't had taken down yet...

Good songs, and 'Another Brick in the Wall' is genuinely educational as I didn't know the definition of an acre before hearing it. Anyway, the pinnacle of medical learning...

I think 'Centerfold' was pushing the limits a bit, but a great video. 😀 Now, a bit of history...

This has Stephen Hawking in it at least....

Hmmn, I'm having trouble with this them already. It seems songs aren't necessarily that educational outside Sesame Street...

Let's start with the Second Law of Thermodynamics ..and its 'Isolated System' follow on.

Why are you building your master bathroom outside?

Hey, I found the map used by that video in your AC extracted files that you linked to some time ago. The area is quite limited, but the AC style of gameplay means that you're unlikely to reach the edges. ...and yes, it's very EF2000-like.

Pretty tragic, and not a very Rock and Roll ending. Randy Rhoads on the other hand... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Rhoads
