  1. Wow nice to see you guys are still at work ^^ While studying for exams I've found a moment to check in on the forums here (procrastinating like a boss), and this just caught my eye, as I've been studying some linear algebra lately so here goes a short comment: having an initial starting point A, and a second different point B, the vector from point A to B could be interpreted as a normal vector to a plane, couldn't it? so two points COULD actually define a plane.. sorry if this comment makes no sense in the context of the 0011 op code, I've only briefly been able to read through the posts, most of the stuff I just don't have a lot of time to fully comprehend yet... but yeah, just wanted to throw that out there.. ^^ keep it up guys!
  2. I was using your two scripts, the first to generate the pallet, the second to fill the tiles together to create the map. I think I didn't realize I still had to flip the generated pallet to get it to look the way it is in your original post. (top left corner is black) When the script created the pallet for me. the top left corner was a land tile. After flipping the pallet vertically to have the top left corner be black again, the second script worked fine. I think the script to generate the big map expects the flipped pallet ^^
  3. I think that happens when the plane is out of a certain sensor range and only it's location is getting picked up but the altitude reading is obviously wrong. If you get close to it, you should be able to properly pick up it's altitude as well.
  4. Hi guys... I'm trying to generate a Hi-Res Image of TAWs terrain... Any ideas on how to fill those black squares?
  5. Hey everybody, so I met up with mireazama via skype - was still waiting for the simhq approval to get TS3 access - and I can confirm that we were both able to host and connect to a multiplayer game. Mireazama, you are all set up! Guys - I feel bad that I have a cool joystick and I don't have it set-up properly!! I will work on that and will get it ready ASAP. Can't wait to do some flying ^^ Cheers!!!
  6. I have tried quite a bit with Cheat Engine ^^ Maybe this will help you if you like to fiddle: -When in-game, press the NUMPAD-Delete key to bring up the mission briefing so far -From this briefing screen you can use alt-tab to switch to windows and back Have fun!
  7. Buna ziua mireazma! Bine ai venit la noi!! ^^ Hello everyone I just wanted to say I'm up for a European Fly-In... I live in Switzerland, so I currently have GMT+2. Furthermore I'm a student, so I have irregular times I'm available. But I would also offer to try to get mireazma set-up and the ports forwarded properly... Just contact me about meeting up in Teamspeak sometime before we try to fly, just to make sure everything is set up properly Cheers!
  8. It has it implemented and works even better than the original freetrack. It uses a PointTracker module that comes included with the main program. Just do a Full Install and you will have it included. It works very smoothly, and calibrating the curves is very easy and intuitive. Basically click on a curve to add a point you would like the curve to go through. Then drag'n'drop to add deadzones, to flatten them out, or to make it more responsive so you don't need to move your head too much. I haven't yet gotten too much into playing with games that can use it though, but based on what the calibration program, I would say it's running perfectly, the curves behave exactly as I would expect them to behave.
  9. Well just a little update: I have uninstalled Freetrack completely and am now using FacetrackNoIR with the PointTracker 1.0 - With great success and no error messages whatsoever. Also ARMA sounds work! ^^ I basically have the same measurements I was using for Freetrack that I input. Editing the curves is also much better and easier! I don't know why I was so stubborn to keep to Freetrack when it was causing me only trouble.... Anyways! I'm happy I can use my construction and ARMA 3 at the same time. ^^ Cheers Everybody!
  10. I originally had the exact same issue as well. http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=2416 Check out this link. The error still shows up, but you can click it away. With this I start freetrack, Set-Up the Camera Stream (640x480 75 fps), Then click on Camera to set it up. Whenever I click anything in this menu, it gives an error, but if you press enter you can continue anyways. Here is how I have it set up - Gain at Max (all the way to the right) - Exposure about 20% from the left. - White Balance all about 40% from the left. Then I set the Threshold almost all the way to the right. Start. Once it's tracking I can set the white balance to auto, but this is not necessary.
  11. I have disabled the PS3 Cam Microphone in Contol Panel -> Sounds -> Recording Tab. In the device manager I also disabled the USB Camera B4.09.24.1 under Sound, video and game controllers. It still shows up as PS3Eye Camera under Imaging devices, but I'm assuming this is needed for it to work with Freetrack... Searching the internet I cannot find anybody with a similar issue. The only thing that helps after having Freetrack use the PS3Eye Camera is to use a System Restore Point to a point before it was used, then Arma has sound once again. But this is no solution...
  12. Hi tirta. Currently I'm using the 5.3.0.0341 drivers, but I have an issue with my sound not working in Arma 3 as soon as I plug in the PS3 Eye. This issue is only with Arma 3 curiously enough, and when I connect the PS3 Eye, the hardware install manager also shows a USB Audio device that didn't install properly, but I haven't yet found a fix for this....
  13. Howdy Folks I have been pretty busy with school and stuff for a while, but since I was on vacation these past weeks, I pulled myself together and orderd some IR-LEDs and other bits and pieces to start a project I've been dreaming about for quite some time... It turns out it was worth it!! ^^ Presenting my Freetrack 3-Point-Cap!! For this build I basically followed these instructions at the freetrack-forum: http://www.free-track.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1856#11461 I have decided to use the Serial Build, and the USB connector, to not have to worry about batteries running out... The parts I ordered are pretty much identical to what they recommended... 3x Osram SFH485p IR-LEDs.... 1x 6.8 Ohm resistor... 1x PTC Fuse (trips at 200 mA, couldn't find 250 mA ones - this still works though, as the USB current is supposed to be 100mA so if it gets to high, it will interrupt the circuit a bit faster than the one they recommend) The cap has some cut-up straws glued firmly to make it a bit neater... The USB-cord was cut from a broken mouse and I extended the wires a bit to give me room for moving my head. (About 2.5 - 3m cable from cap to USB end) I used a soldering iron to connect the components, some heat-shrink wirewrapper to isolate the wires where I could, and isolating tape where I couldn't.... ^^ As a camera, I'm using a cheap PS3 Eye bought from Ebay, which has had the IR-filter removed, and I've cut out a small circle from an old floppy disk drive and put it in front of the lense to block out most of the visible light. After applying the PS3 Eye Cam fix from the forums, freetrack will accept the camera and not crash when I try to start tracking.... Although the initial Camera Settings (Gain, Exposure, White balance) must be quickly set-up before using Freetrack, the program can find my three LEDs and track my head!! Hurray!!! ^^ Setting up the relative distances between your LEDs and your head's axis of motion properly is important, and there is a guide for that as well on the freetrack forum. Finally fine-tuning the sensitivity of the various movement axis has led me to a successful head-track in-game! I can only encourage anybody with a soldering iron, and some spare time to give this build a try, all in all I spent about 12 bucks for components (8 bucks camera+shipping, and 4 bucks LEDs, resistor, and fuse)... If you don't have a soldering iron, heat-shrink-wire-wrapper, then ask a friend who might be into this kind of stuff, chances are pretty good someone has these things somewhere... and if not, consider getting them for yourself, as an investment into future projects!!! Cheers y'all, cya in the skies!!! Eagle out
  14. Hey no worries I also actually got Friday and Saturday mixed up a little bit.. But I also wasnt able to make the Saturday flyin. Maybe we can somehow coordinate again with Dany to try to figure out his Firewall issue... He had Teamviewer, which helped alot in being able to literally see what we were dealing with...
  15. Hey, so we managed to meet up but we had trouble connecting to a server. I couldn't see his server at all, and he could see my server, but got a direct play error when trying to connect.. It's been a while since I last set up TAW for Multiplayer, but I think I got it right.... Still, We couldn't get it working, not even with hamachi.... Homefries? Nephilim? Are you guys going to be around tomorrow at (sat 30.01.2015, 22:00 GMT) so maybe you can try to connect to my server etc and troubleshoot this issue? Dany has to work but from what I understood he might make it around 22:30 GMT, if not maybe a bit later.. I know you guys have DCS planned, so I dont want to keep you guys too busy.. Thanks!! Cheeers!!
  16. Check your main Game folder for game.cfg - open this with Notepad, and find the line: START_ON_RUNWAY=1 Change that 1 into a 0. Save.
  17. Hey guys! I'm from Switzerland, and I'd really enjoy getting back to flying a bit more. We can do Co-Op or Dogfights, It is also possible to make custom missions and fly those if you are interested. But I'd also appreciate a Europe-friendly time.
  18. Wow Good to see y'all are still here Maybe it's time to update the Server Banner??
  19. hey woooow firstly, thanks for your work on these experiments!!! they are of high value for a lot of us who still hang around with TAW! ^^ next, can i put up a request?? one thing that has come to my mind while reading this thread was a post from the TAW gods (those guys with the huge brains working on understanding TAW ) they noticed, that if you freshly start up TAW, go into the custom combat screen, and view a BMP, the turret will point in a certain dirrection (lets say west). after flying one mission, going back to custom combat, and viewing the same vehicle, the turrent will point differently (lets say north) for every mission except for the first. one possible conclusion was that, maybe some parameters are loaded on initialization (TAW startup), and they get replaced/reset to something else after flying a mission.. i wonder if these test would turn out differently if TAW were restarted after every test run?? would it change something?? is there a similar difference for missile range that changes after flying one mission?? it would be somewhat of a 'huge' inconsistency, but its something that came to my mind while reading.. cheers and greets!! once again thanks for your work!! this is indeed very interesting news!!
  20. ey battie you got it mostly right, i browse very often but i dont have much time for anything else.. currently im also on vacation - romania.. its great to spend time with relatives, and im also quite busy helping them out in their garden/land plot... keepin the trees clean of dry branches, and gettin rid of the unwanted weeds, etc.. i will be back in september hang tight i havent forgotten my promise to get the padlocking checklist + missions done! hear from you all soon hopefully! hope you are all well, all the best! cheers eagle!
  21. oh wow great find! i was mostly convinced, that the situation mfd map was created on the fly using the sim-world terrain - i never expected the sim-world terrain to be able to use mfd textures! a few things i can remember about this topic right now: towards the edge of the map, the glitches to the mfd map change depending on the zoom level of the mfd. so viewing the mfd at a closer range will not give a very extensive glitch. however - trying to zoom out causes certain glitches to the map: it does not update at the zoom level which is most furthest away, instead it still shows the second furthest zoom level, and the rest of the HUD and buttons start to get glitchy textures. also i think it starts querying terrain files as if they wrapped around, so that at an edge where you would only expect desert, the situation mfd glitches and shows stripes of green - presumably because at some other edge of the map the terrain has some green in it. ....also i have seen in some post something about zeros maybe reserving space in files, so that they may get replaced once the file is in memory? i can't seem to find the thread anymore.. anyways - i'm done with my civil service for now (finished 3 months) and i'm going to my grandparents on vacation tomorow this means i'll have some time to fiddle with this theory and i would like to try to see what can be found out in that respect... so these are the things i plan to do: - finish up that bloody checklist for AGM-65 - static target tracking + some training missions (sorry batty, redfalcon and home fires, i know you guys are waiting on my lazy ass for this since half a year i presume.. i promise i will get at least this point done by the end of august!) - look into that zero-issue and try to find out what/why/when gets written to those zeros under which circumstance. (please be so kind as to direct my foolish self to that respective post and i will see if there's anything i can find out that you guys don't already know (which i doubt since you guys already know veeeery much ^^ ) ) hope i can get to that, i'll be arriving on the 26th at my grandparents house - until then keep it up guys! :) sooo much potential in all the knowledge you guys are gaining! alrighty i need some rest, long day on the road tomorow until soon! eagle out
  22. sry guys, working a weekend shift tonight, no flyin for me.. till next time!
  23. yeah i can join no problem. thing is though: they got a new server with a new IP i think.. this link provides info: but you have to log in to sim hq to see the info: http://simhq.com/for...cs/3137414.html
  24. Hey guys, let me just also send major respect your way.. i've been inspired quite a few times by how respectful everyone is of everyone elses oppinions, experiences, and bits of advice its a very positive atmosphere in this little hideout-corner of the internet, and im really proud of all of us, of how we talk openly about whats going on in our lives, what makes us happy, what troubles us. i guess it aint always easy, but its worth it all =)
