Farking bastages !! .....how could he possibly be better than the superior Europeans........therefore he must be cheating ...The cycle racing aristocrats will then do anything to "prove" that. It's like in the early 60s the Euro rally aristocrats could not understand how Mini Coopers could possibly be beating the "superior" cars from France and Germany so they did evryting to try to prove that the Minis were "cheating" finally in 1966 ..after the minis took first second and third place in thge Monto Carlo rally...the Euros decided that the Mini headlamps did not dim in the right way ( they were left hand drive ) so therfore the Mnis were "cheating" and were disqualified....the French then 'won' the rally championship This stuff is BIG business in Europe and the "powers that be" don't like to be embarrased

This is not surprising. The statistic that 70-% of GM vehicles are made outside of the US should not come as any surprise or issue at all. GM is quite big in Europe ( Opel, Vauxhall) and Australia ( Holden ) and South America. I would say that there are more Fords sold outside the US than inside as well. The Ford Focus and Ranger are built and sold all over the world. Fiat now own Chrysler and Tatta Motors or India owns Jaguar for heaven's sake. On the other side of the coin I have two cousins in Ohio ..one workds for Honda in a huge plant outside Urbana where thay build Hondas for the US and Japanese markets......yup the famous Honda "Japanese quality" is made in the US The disturbing bit about GM would be the partneship with the SAIC using US Gov't funds.

Tom Brokaw explores Britain's WWII resolve in 'Their Finest Hour'
No105_Archie replied to Donster's topic in Ready Room
Agreed with Og and Maine about the need to use overwhelming force and that war is never "nice". I also agree that Britain and the British people were for a time . There have been endless debates and alternate histories about what would have happened if England had "rolled over" to Hitler. No one will ever know how that would have played out.....but I do know this .......I thank God for the resolve and fortitude of Britain and the Commonwealth in those dark days. -

German U-boat wreck may be at bottom of Churchill River in Labrador
No105_Archie replied to Donster's topic in Ready Room
It's a very plausible story ...The Churchill is quite wide with a mostly sandy bottom and a slow current. Big freighers go into Goose Bay all teh time. Ther are also a couple of abandoned German WW2 weather stations on the Labrador coast...so the KM was very familiar with the area. -
I have a Boer War vintage (1898) Martini Henry rifle ...it's a big bore so .577 sound right. It's not in "bad shape" but certainly not able to be fired ( even if there was ammo around )
-
Nice rifle. I had a war surplus one for years and used it to hunt moose.......I also fired many hundreds of rounds from Lee- Enfields that were rebored to a .22 cal when I was a range instuctor for cadets......many moons ago

A few of the 105 guys are flying an A-10 Warthog sim I think. My X-45 gathers dust in the corner. Don't even have a flight sim on my PC anymore
