  1. Off to church for Good Friday...... -1C clear
  2. Well I sure as heck wasn't going to say I hung out with the infamous Donster , now was I ??
  3. That makes sense......our guys ( most likely by accident ) have been using the same forum name and squad call sign for years. Archie & Ogdens ( and others ) have carried through from the old Zone days to now. Its a good thing though that we didn't pick names that had to do with flying or shooting skills as my name would probably be "dipstick" ....or something censored
  4. Dear eMagin: I am a close personal friend and bousom pal of Doug "the Dude" at Combatism. Can I please have one of those new fangled visor thingmes to test. I will try not to break it. Your truly Archibald Jamieson St.John-Smyth, Squadron Leader Offiicer Commanding No.105 Squadron vRAF
  5. Two sectretaries arguing about who goes to lunch first
  6. Check out this screenie from SimHq. Apparently its on a French site somewhere. Look at all the ground targets and that beeyoutiful Tempest. drrrrooooolll http://merlin555.free.fr/305/tempb4.jpg
  7. I had forgotten that ! I always looked forward to the Bill Maudlin (spelling ?) cartoon of the day.
  8. -4C cloudy. gas went up to $0.984/L (about $3.34US/USgal) Oh well at least the flipping government is making money off the price of gas
  9. Pretty much anything Michael Caine says in the Battle of Britain...... "Diving Now"
  10. I REALLY can't figure out why an airline would allow somebody on board who was already drunk ??? That's just asking for trouble.......around here you almost have to get strip searched to get through security , so I can't imagine getting through if you were pissed .
  11. I really don't know why they serve booze on aircraft ? I figure I can hold my rum as well as the next guy, but I find that , on an airplane, a couple of drinks that I wouldn't ever feel on land , makes me tippsy. I happen to be a sleepy drunk so I don't cause trouble....if you are a "rowdy" drunk like this guys was ...serious Sh|t can happen
  12. Are you trying to give me a coronary ??
  13. "The Axis, now aware of the large British supply convoy sailing towards Malta, dispatch Admiral Iachino from Taranto with the Battleship Littorio and 4 destroyers. Admiral Parona also sets sail from Messina with 3 cruisers and 4 destroyers." The British intercept the Italians with an old rowboat and a hang glider. Two Italian destroyers are sunk and a cruiser and another destroyer collide while retreating at high speed. There are no British losses
  14. Snow, wind , freezing fog ........Monday
  15. Glorious sunny Palm Sunday morning.
  16. The great thing about our crew is that nobody gets their knickers in a twist if folks fly cockpit on or "wonder woman"..... I usually fly with the cockpit on but in some fighters I go wonder woman ( not that it helps much )
  17. Good article and I quite agree with most of what was said. The big fight would be, I think, where to start. VMF124 loves the Pacific, No.32 Squadron love the dessert, No.105 Squadron loves Western Europe. The multiplayer stability of IL-2/FB/PF, with the planeset, maps & "soul" of EAW would be pretty close IMO. I have no idea how to solve the open vs closed code issue. Open source allows guys like the Charles Gunst in EAW to do their magic, but closed source makes multiplay a joy. We can all live in hope I guess......the New BoB by Oleg may be close, historical campaign, limited plane set, accurate maps......byt we shall see. Again....good article Gunny
  18. aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrggggghhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!
  19. Check it out folks......looks like new FM for real and AI pilots, those with older systems may have issues as more PC power will be needed. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=40...13&m=3041012492
  20. Canuck is right.....the Arrow was ahead of every other plane on the planet. It was killed by politics...not cost. Same thing with HMCS Bras D'or, the fastest warship on the planet. Killed off by politics. Ever since then our military has been systematically gutted by one gov't after another. oops ...sorry... I said the word politics ....I'll stop now
  21. Young man gets the VC for saving his comrades in Iraq. They don't pass these out very often......you usually have to get killed first. S! to him http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4358921.stm Here is what he did to get the medal http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4360461.stm
  22. The trouble is Donster that the bunch out in BC will probably believe this is true. Then they'll start protesting about the possible deaths of innocent civilians in Oregon and Alaska if missles from Samoa bounce off the shield and land there.
