I have a friend who's was a Master Chief in the USN during Viet Nam. He's pretty stoic about it all. The unfortunate fact is that soldiers fight at the behest of their governments ..they carry out the policies that are set for them. Viet Nam was an "unpopular" war with an unfortunate ending for the United States......the soldiers still did their jobs and should receive thanks for their service. Just like the soldiers from Britain who served in Ulster. God bless 'em all

Amen to that.......she deserves better she served her coutry well. In 1947 the HMS Warspite ...one of the most famous and decorated battles ships of the RN which served with distinction in WW! and WW2; was decommissioned and set to be scrapped. As she was being towed from Portsmouth; just off St Michael's Mount her rudder went hard starbord (even though she had no power and nobody at the helm) she broke her tow and beached near the mount. They could never get her to the scrap yard. Parts of the wreck are visible there to this day
