  1. Well to be honest all those fancy shader's start to pee you off after the initial WOW factor...I've started taking them off and the funny thing is I'm actually enjoying flying it with all them off, including cockpit reflections!, you get to see more of action better, that rippling water effect started to really bother me......I've got it looking like Superpak 4.2 now! , bizarre!, and I got a constant 60FPS during Maverick Training Mission

  2. Well I can't understand this BMS, if I run it in a lower resolution and disable all the shader's and stuff you still get the explosion slowdowns, in-fact BMS runs faster at the highest resolution I have!?......that just doesn't make sense??.......Its the same slowdowns you got with the original falcon 4 and superpak!, same missions (i.e. maverick training).

  3. One other point about takeoff is to always make sure you've gained enough height before turning.....once during a scramble I was so eager to get in the air and on the target I clipped my wing on the runway!...one to watch out for. ;)

  4. I'm getting a slight tearing without 'vertical sync' enabled, but if i enable vertical sync then at certain times fps can drop to 30 FPS ( i.e. during explosions, and heavy rain effects) but its smooth and no tearing, by the way I have OCD ( obsessive compulsive disorder) so my attention to detail is probably extreme!

  5. This looks like a bridge in Scotland near a castle on the west coast, the resemblance is uncanny!......well similar anyway.....well reminded me of it......in a way.....I think??

EDIT: Oh I forgot, its a BMS pic in the TAW 2.0 section! , well I just wanted to show the bridge thats all.

  6. Well, Windows 7 is perhaps your only option as the sound mixer allows you to set the volume levels per application, so you can send TAW to the bottom and buff up teamspeak for an example.

Hey thanks for that Sweeper, I was wondering why BMS volume was lower than all other applications I was running, now its fixed!. .....This Windows 7 takes some getting used too  .

  7. MP fly-in yesterday. We all seem to be having problems, with whatever at the moment: Neh with his Mobo, Eagle and Red' with their internet connection, me with my router and HF's on leave. However Eagle and I did get airborne. For whatever reason I was Lead and again realised how tough it is. But I did learn "any decisions is better than no decision at all." The other thing is to use the skills of your fellow pilots, including your AI, particular if your own are lacking. A number of times I "stood off" and let Eagle do the difficult bits, while I provided cover. I still did my bit, but in the less difficult times. Its a bit ego deflating, particularly if you're the Lead, but it works. He followed my instructions to the letter (with the odd occasional suggestion) and on egress we discussed how it had been done and how it could have been done better. That's something you can't do in SP with an AI wingman.

Just a warning to others about MP and message typing. (I'm sure the veterans here know this). I virtually became a sitting duck for any hostile on ingress because on selecting EMCON 5, I just typed <5> rather <E> <5>. I should have used my programmed button on my 'stick, but in my usual panic mode I reverted to the keyboard. Just typing <5> brings up that "Message" option and any keyboard entry after that just appears as text on your helmet display: ";;;;;; '''''' t u e 5 ....." and so on. And worse: I COULDN'T GET RID OF IT!!!!! Talk about sweaty palms. My solution? Hit the <ESP> key. It wipes the lot and returns you to normal flight mode. But it was too late for me ...... :nuke: leaving Eagle as number 2 and an AI number 3 and replacement lead. I'm laughing about it now, but I wasn't at the time. Nor was Eagle.

Yeah or just press ENTER and send whatever garbled message you've typed, that will clear it too.........Engineer been, had new cables installed, just doing some final tests and adjustments in Windows, connection looking pretty stable so-far!, but ain't making any promises about flying till I'm confident its all ok.......but looking good. ......Crack open the scotch whiskey.

  8. Hey RED NICE VERY NICE!!.. vDoes the case have a side window?? would like to see inside?? I like that monitor..

Thanks Neph, sorry but it has no side window, just black slide off sides, I've just had engineer round and the way I have things wired up to my monitor with all wires hidden and stuff makes it quite a task to move so I don't want to be messing around with it unless I have too (i.e. It breaks down or needs a good dust out!, but I'll try get inside pic during maintenance sometime. ....Nice rig by the way, I wouldn't be confident pulling mine to bits like that, but I'm sure you know what your doing!.....hope so anyway! :P

Bloody show-off. ;) Real nice mate. :thumbsup:EDIT: .... and I suppose your's is bigger than mine too!

Well I've had no complaints so-far!

  9. Yeah British Telecom engineer coming..At the moment internet only works if i make an outgoing phone call!?......will stay on for about 5mins after call then total loss of connection again?, hopefully engineer will fix this for good, because its peeing me right off!! .
