I have no idea how many hours I spent fighting the Battle of Britain in EAW. I actually helped to win the battle a few times! Off-line campaigns in EAW have not been equaled by any other WW II combat flight sim.

The Il2 series of sims ended up overshadowing the CFS series, not to mention that MicroSoft decided to drop combat flight sims after releasing CFS3.

I last played CFS2 shortly after Il2: Pacific Fighters was released, so we are talking about 16 years ago. Since then, I have forgotten everything I knew about CFS2 other than I do remember the "1% flight models" that gave the aircraft very realistic flight and engine management characteristics. Everything that I had for CFS2 got dumped shortly after I switched to Il2:Pacific Fighters.
