    v.4.01m

Complete and total cleanup stans. Followed the install & patch guide, and squad SOP, to the letter plus starting the game after each to verify. Just went thru it all again with the same result (does that mean I'm insane?). Before I started this adventure I had noticed the game "sticking". That's with the old install with 4.01 over 4.00. So I thought a fresh install would be a good thing anyway. Having a backup install is a good idea, at least up to 3.04. However, not sure if it would matter much in getting me to 4.01. What's happening is the the CPU useage skyrockets to 100%. May mean a reformat. As Imperator Schatten would say, I am vexed, very vexed. Thanx guys. I'll get this sorted one way or another.

    Good morning

    Mornin. Another beachcomber day.

    v.4.01m

Is it pooched? I did a complete re-install of the PF-FB-AEP merge as per my squadrons SOP. I carefully checked and verified each patch along the way, as I usually do. Can't use the FMB. When I try to zoom in or move objects or just about any work on even a lightly built up project on the N. Guinea or Pelilieu map it freezes, forcing a ctrl-alt-del. I later installed that rts file to no effect. Lee? Rick? Knuckles? Anyone? Ya know this'll drive me to the brink of insanity eh.

    Thankyou Schatt

T'is one of my favs too. Even has the science (more) correct. Shame only one season was ever produced. Still (re) running here.
  5. G'day. T'is a perfect day for the beach.
  6. Good to see everyone with family/friends in London. My neighbour Val reports she's heard from family and all is good. Sad day. Given the date of the the G8 meeting was known well beforehand, and significant protester turnout is pretty much a given, it may be an opportunity not to be missed. I'd be suprised if this had anything to do with the G8 summit or the Olympics, but just a very good opportunity to try something. It does seem to bear the stamp of AQ on it. One has to wonder about hitting London. Something of an exercise in futility. I mean they've been there, done that and MAKE the bloody T-shirts. From what I'm seeing on tv interviews of Londoners they knew it was a matter of when, not if, such a thing would be tried. The efficacy of the London response teams has been given high marks so far. A further indication that such an attack was expected to be attempted. Hats off to them. Well that's 4 of the 6 countries on AQ's list that have been hit. Hail Britannia.
  7. Good morning all. Heavy overcast, Who knows what it'll do.
  8. ok How'bout Heroes & Heroines
  9. Good mornin. Warm and sticky with t-storms looming.
  10. Thanks Rick, that's all I needed to know. Well ok, more than I needed to know but much more fun reading than a simple yes or no. I'm a stick in the mud when it comes to stuff like magic. For instance, I find the Merlin in the latest King Arthur movie infinitely more interesting than the spell casting wand/staff twirling Merlin of the other more traditional Merlins. But that's just me.
  11. Are there Banshees in the game? Just askin cause my uncle Jack (deceased) worked on them while serving on the HMCS Bonaventure. He started out on the Majestic working on the Sea Fury and Avenger, then on the Banshee and Tracker on the Bonaventure in the late 50's.
  12. There's magic and spells in this isn't there.
  13. What I find amusing in the blackest of ways is how we discuss many times situations like Jim describes or shooting someone dangling from a chute, yet rarely ask the same question of a bombardier about to carpet bomb a village or nuke a city. If one can blast naked citizens to smithereens, then shooting up soldiers should never be a problem. If the enemy puts on a uniform, I'd kill him any time any where in any manner. Unless capturing him is possible. Unarmed enemy citizens, is a different matter. I'd need a number of questions answered first before deciding. When it comes to soldiers, there are few questions to ask.
  14. I flew IL2 (original) passably on my old AMD 1000 with 512Mb. I had to set everything to minimum and sound off, but it worked. Haven't yet installed FB, AEP, PF.
  15. Good morn. Happy 229th USA. S!
  16. S! I'm nursing an aversion to alcohol, so it's going to be a quiet one. I did go down to the Detroit River on Wednesday for the big fireworks do, that both Detroit and Windsor share. Impressive show as always.
  17. Just what the doctor ordered. I could use a little tummy rub right about now. Tankya Donster.
  18. G'mornin. Well, a better mornin anyway. Hot and humid. Between 35 and 40C (95-104F). That's the way it's been for a month, and will be for quite awhile yet.
  19. Thanks guys. Still recovering from a rather toxic blend of Suiza and Glenfiddich. Party was Saturday, comatose Sunday and today, early morning, still a bit quezzy. Parties like that remind me why I don't do that much more. Once a year blow out is quite enough.
  20. We're with you Donster. Very nice Jim.
  21. Good morning. Near perfect summer day.
