  1. Heading out to the beach to spend the night at a motel. Gonna eat some good food, walk on the beach, have a few adult beverages at the pool bar, and then go upstairs to...

Watch the NASCAR race at Richmond :P

Hey, we're old folks who like NASCAR, what else would we do?

  2. I've heard it's like peeing broken glass. Got a question for you, though: How many sodas do you drink each day? You see, the stuff that makes the fizz accretes in the kidneys and becomes kidney stones after a time. Got that from my mother, back when she was a nurse, and who had it told to her by the leading urologist in J-ville that Coca-Cola was his best friend.

Water, tea, coffee, no problem...but mostly, lots of water.

  3. The only way to define what an American car is vs a foreign car, is what nation accrues the profits. I sincerely doubt Nissan leaves a dime of the profits here in the states. Can you buy shares of Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, Mercedes et al on the NYSE? I rather doubt it.

Boats, who suggest that you sports car boys check out the Saturn Sky...

  4. I've been driving nothing but GM products for the last 14 years (Saturns) and I have ZERO complaints. My VUE had 60K on it before I had to sink any money into it (a set of tires and a brake job). It uses no oil, gets great gas milage, and is the most dependable and comfortable car I've ever had the pleasure to own. And that 2000 Chevy full size pick up that rear ended me? I had to replace the rear bumper, the deck lid skin, and the tail lights...totaled the pickup. Adjustor was shocked, and said his next car was going to be a Vue.

I wouldn't buy Jap, French, German, or Norwegian or Swedish crap for nothing.

Oh, Saturns are only built in Spring Hill Tennesee

  5. I am very, very, VERY proud to announce that as of today, my son-in-law AD1 Doug Vanderberg has been selected for Chief Petty Officer. He will officially (after suitable initiation rites) become a Chief sometime mid-September. It is unfortunate, though, that we will be unable to attend the ceremony, since he shipped back out to the Gulf the second week of July, and he will not be home again with us until late December. Yeah, hell of a deployment cycle...

  6. Howdy...heading out to Savannah for a couple of days, me and the bride, just to get the hell out of town. Was a rough 4 months decom'ing the Kennedy, lots of stress and long hours, and now it's time to decompress with a waterfront hotel, lots of bars, and Dr. Bombays Best Sapphire Gin :popcornsmilie:

Seeya mugs when I get back Monday!

  7. Morning, you lazy gits, was up about 10 minutes after Gunnys post, but being in a hurry to get onto World of Warcraft and continue my march up to level 40 (made 39 this morning!), I didn't post. Got a weekend off, just finished the John F. Kennedy decom, 4 months of utter misery is now over, and I get to relax a bit.
