  1. Yup..............I'm in a bad mood and just speaking whats on my mind.

Always on drugs and this was a shock?

I kinda have the same attitude Canuck. She was trailer trash who married well, lived like a star (which she wasn't) whored around (is there a better description?) was a substance abuser, and in the end, couldn't keep herself from drowning in her own puke:

Todays article is about the Hawker Sea Hawk, the Fleet Air Arms first jet aircraft, and it's history. One thing I read, that amazed me, was this little gem:

Five years after the Indo-Pakistani war, the Sea Hawk was still in service and on 4 Mar 76, Cdr. Peter Debras, IN, suffered a catapult failure while launching from Vikrant. The aircraft ditched in the sea ahead of the carrier and sank. Unable to stop or turn, the carrier passed over the sinking aircraft and Cdr. Debras waited in his seat until the carrier had passed before ejecting. He survived and set a world record for the deepest underwater ejection.

Imagine being in the cockpit of that jet, as it's slowly sinking. You deliberately let the whole carrier go over you, while the aircraft is being slammed by the pressure wave and propeller wash. THEN you pull the handles! That guy had some stones...BIG ones!

  3. There is another side to this though...

if the daughter is an addict as well, the ONLY person who can save her from dying is, guess who?......

    HERSELF...

take it from me, I've seen my psycho -Ex in these situations, and she keeps going back for more..

Not until the daughter truely wants to be clean will she be safe, no matter what Dad does...

A shame really, his actions, though noble to protect his child, only leave the daughter that much more in dispair...

Total agreement, Doc. I fully understand addiction. But I can, and will, remove the source of infection.

  4. I remember one time, I'd been out drinking, drinking like a fish, mind you. It was one of those drunks where you have to stick one foot on the floor just to keep the bed still :popcornsmilie: Anyway, I had to stagger to the bathroom during the wee hours of the morning, to, well, wee I felt something really ugly on the back of my throat, God knows what it was, and then, while I was doing my business, I hawked it up....damn if it didn't look just like Dougs avatar :sofa1:

  5. Donnie, the absolute truth about capital punishment is that the criminal will never commit a crime again.

I didn't say I would kill the young man. I did say I would inflict pain to the point that he would never see my daughter again. BUT...had he taken her life, I would take his. And no father would ever have to worry about this scum destroying his child ever again.

  6. Well, if he had exhausted all legal recources such as having her commited or even an intervention he probably felt pretty helpless. Yet stepping outside the personna of "what we'd do" we need to realize that we live in societies where laws govern us just as those of ancient times before lawyers and courtrooms.

It is entirely against all civilized cultures' mores and values to commit murder, extenuating circumstances aside. While I may have voted for dismissal if I was on the jury, readily identifying with his quandry, I can't damn those who did not as their decision was a difficult one for sure.

Sometimes societies stray, or even become degenerate. The one constant are the basics of society: Pro-create. Protect the young, for they are the future of the species.

Maybe it's because I'm from the South, and Cajun in particular, but there are things that I will not tolerate. I will allow the law one, repeat, one chance to do their job and protect my family. If they fail in their duty, I will not fail in mine.

  7. Well, Doug, I pretty much don't think I have a lot to add to a blog. But I am having a lot of fun with Capt. Lex's blog, at least the little playground he made for us. And if you know how to "write", and add some cool pics, you can make Whizzer look like the Skipper...well, maybe more like Arch

  9. Last week, the Navy Captain who owns Neptunus Lexs' blog Neptunus Lex decided that it would be interesting to let some of his regular commenters do some blogging of their own. He did some web magic (I call it magic, cause I sure as hell don't understand it :popcornsmilie: ) and created a page that about a dozen of his regulars could post up articles and such. Only the regulars can post articles...anyone else can view them, and comment on them.

The cool part, is that I'm one of the "regulars" :icon_bow: I've already put up a few articles. Now, keep in mind that Lex is a Naval Aviator, as are several of his regulars. Some are simply civlians like myself, who are closely attuned and have great admiration for the Navy. And Donnie, I shamelessly grabbed a bit of your "This Day in WW2" for an article this morning :icon_bow: Head on over and take a look. There's some awfully cool stuff there (and for that matter, Lex ALWAYS has very interesting stuff on his blog...one of the best milblogs on the web, for that matter)

  10. Oh no, the worlds going to end  It's just a freakin' ad man, lighten up ;)

Between this ad and the infamous Waldrobe Malfunction, I reckon most Americans would receive heart attacks when watching Australian free to air TV. ;)

Mate, I can see we're going to have to convene a meeting of the Man Council to explain to you the "Man Laws" :popcornsmilie::thumbsup:

(Dude, we're working a real good running joke thingmie  )

  11. Real men don't accidentally touch lips, in fact, real men never touch lips. You will never see your man card again.

    And he was a....shudder....actor?

Who and how the hell did he ever GET a mancard? :popcornsmilie:
