No place for a molex to go...I'll look in BIOS again(shudder) I'd really hate to find out I gotta search for a pin on that freakin' mobo...and I got an ATI Catylist 256 meg, 400hz side bus (same side bus as my PC) Gonna go to sleep, not think about this expensive thing sitting there, along with IL-2, and Pacific Fighters still in the shrink wrap Boats, who at some point in time, would really like to see if I can flame Ronin...

Guys, did everything mentioned in this thread...including hooking the monitor jack to the new video card (can't believe I missed this one!) Still can't get anything but a black screen. I made a restore point before I did all this, so I haven't lost anything, but boy, this is aggrivating as hell! Any input is highly welcomed! Boats

Oh...batcrap...didn't think of that one...DOH! That's what happens when you let a retarded squid get near electronics Boats
-
Crap..no joy...another black screen...BIOS showed nada about video at all. Sucks to be a puter retard...guess I'm just a point and click kinda guy. Boats

Thanks, Stag..I'll do my best to avoid "OH crap!" Boats

OK...will do...but how the hell do I get to BIOS? Been there once or twice, but didn't lay down a trail of breadcrumbs to get back Boats

Whole rig is about 4 months old, AMD Sempron 2300, Via Mobo, XP Home, got a 16 meg onboard video Boats
-
Yup...did it twice, both times, had nothing on monitor. Took new card out, had video again. Last time I put an ATI card in, it was freakin' misery. Reading install guide again, it's telling me to update the drivers for the AGP mobo...which doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, since I'll be uninstalling the onboard video. Should have let someone with brains install this, I'm just a dumb squid Boats
-
Sorry, Stag...I tried that, got black screen...I was told that I need to uninstall the Via chips video. Can I do that from Safe Mode? I already created a restore point, just in case something gets hosed. Boats

Michael Yon has the BEST reporting on what it's really like in Iraq. Other top milblogs include Commander Salamander, Blackfive, and Froggy Ruminations: http://cdrsalamander.blogspot.com/ http://www.blackfive.net/ http://froggyruminations.blogspot.com/ Take your time to read back posts, and search through the list of other blogs listed. I go to them twice a day, and find them to be a hell of an intel resource on current events. Boats

I don't understand this...for years, Harpoon has used Grumman products in the database, and I don't know of any threats from them concerning copyright. Personally, I'd be prepared to tell the SOBs to see me in court, and be prepared to be slaughtered in the court of public opinion. When threatened with lawsuit by Tom Clancy not to base any scenarios on Clancy's work, I sent him an email, cc'd in as many places as I could think, to go right ahead, you'll look real stupid in court suing a broke-d!ck old shipfitter Boats

Sigh...civilians...colors is at 0800, and evening sunset...Skip, you need to assign Stans to the color detail for a month, no leave or liberty, to pound it into his thick head Boats

Mark (who is not my driver), is a real nice guy. I'm certain that he was under a lot of pressure from both sides, his family (who really needs him home), and Jack Roush, who is a good friend to Mark. In the end, Mark decided that his loyalty to Jack was important, especially when Jack asked him to stay on for one more year. I don't think for a moment that Mark intended one bit of disrespect to his loyal fans. He's just a stand-up kind of guy, and you have to respect that. My son-in-law is a big fan of Marks, and he's sure as hell not disappointed Personally, I'd like to see the old fart win the Cup this year Boats

WOW! Helluva race, and Martin Truex is a helluva driver! Turned out to be a wreck-o-rama at the end, with Tony Stewart finally pulling a good car out, saying that he'd had enough banging and and beating, and getting spun out by Busch rookies, and didn't want to destroy Kevin and Deanna Harvicks car Boats

Me too...got a three day weekend courtesy of the US Navy (hurrican paranoia), and turned my sleep cycle around so I could spend more time with my wife (been working the night shift from hell), who for some strange reason, I've been missing. Nice cool morning here (67), and after I've done the regular internet thingmie, I plan to retire to the front porch, and enjoy the birds singing and the sunrise Boats, who will let that stinking supply chief take care of the color detail this morning

NOLA is open all night too...and I bet it could match Vegas sin for sin as well. It's just further from the taxpayers eyes, and not as humid Boats, who wonders how the Mayor plans to pay for this little vacation

Man, ain't no way I'm telling my wife that one! Boats

So he DID shoot you down by mistake! Boats...who knows that a Naval Aviator would have shot you down on PURPOSE!

What did you do, Shep, shoot the Skipper down by mistake? Boats

One can only wonder, if this story will be picked up by the mainstream media.... Boats, who has a three day weekend, compliments of the paranoid US Navy, and tropical storm Ophelia

Here's something to make a lot of those "other" Americans (and the odd Frenchman and German) feel small: From Blackfives blog: Iraqi Soldiers Donate to Katrina Victims By Multinational Security Transition Command-Iraq TAJI, Iraq, Sept. 9, 2005 — Iraqi soldiers serving at Taji military base collected 1,000,000 Iraqi dinars for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Iraqi Col. Abbas Fadhil, Iraqi base commander, presented the money to U.S. Col. Paul D. Linkenhoker, Taji Coalition base commander, at a Sept. 5 staff meeting. “We are all brothers,” said Abbas. “When one suffers tragedy, we all suffer their pain.” The amount of money is small in American dollars - roughly $680 - but it represents a huge act of compassion from Iraqi soldiers to their American counterparts, said U.S. Army Maj. Michael Goyne. “I was overwhelmed by the amount of their generosity,” Goyne said. “I was proud and happy to know Col. Abbas, his officers, NCOs and fellow soldiers. That amount represents a month’s salary for most of those soldiers.” Abbas read a letter he wrote after giving the envelope to Linkenhoker. "I am Colonel Abbas Fadhil; Tadji Military Base Commander,” Abbas wrote. “On behalf of myself and all the People of Tadji Military Base; I would like to console the American People and Government for getting this horrible disaster. So we would like to donate 1.000.000 Iraqi Dinars to help the government and the People also I would like to console all the ASTs who helped us rebuilding our country and our Army. We appreciate the American's help and support. Thank you." Ya'll can get your hankies out now Boats
