Storm? Whats that??? :P

Afternoon all, having a busy time sorting out colleges. Counselling starts on the 19th, proceeds throughout July and August, I'm trying for a college up north. Got to be in 6 cities in 10 days, gonna have to let go of a few. Digging out last year's cut-offs, so far its rather bleak. I've got a rank of 23k in the largest engineering entrance exam, most seats to CSE and ECE streams dry out by 11-15k. I'm hoping to land Civil Engineering, as its the last choice after Instrumentation Technology, I might just make it into a good college. Although there're over 300 colleges in the big states, only the good ones count for PG studies.

Anyway, there's a more pressing issue, how on earth am I gonna stay awake to watch tonight's big match? Its at midnight

Have a great day, all.

Your young...what's the problem? :P

So? Just 'coz I'm young, doesn't mean I can go without adequate sleep for 6 days :P Has it been six days already??? Why does time always fly when all the good stuff's happening? Only 3 weeks more and then another 4 years of agonizing waiting. :(

Anyway, I just received this in an email, its of no interest to me, but I thought I'd put it up here anyway. It beat my spam-filter, but I suspect its worthless.

<Groan!> Tunisia vs Saudi Arabia going at 1-0 right now, this is the first WC match I've given up on. Dad's taking my place, meanwhile, with strict instructions to shout on goal. I hope the third match (Germany vs Poland) will be good, I'm supporting the Tjermanns this season. Schneider (ja!), Sweinsteiger (ja!), Lahm (ja!), Ballack (ja!) aaaaannddd - Podolski (jajajajajajaja!!!). Upping my Germlish just on account of their lineup :D 'Course, they kicked off the world cup finals with the highest scoring match so far, with a 4-2 win over CRC without Ballack. I'm hoping he'll be in today, I haven't seen him play. Actually, 9th was the first time I'd seen any of them, except keeper Lehmann, who's in the EPL.

The Aussie's had a lovely game against Japan, with 3 goals in 7 minutes towards the end heralding their arrival in germany, while the Czech thrashing of the US was as expected, with 3-0 being the final goal. Personally, I think it would've gone higher, had everyone's favourite big-baldy Koller not been taken off soon after his lightning of a header due to a hamstring strain. Seems like he's out for the remainder of the series. Hopefully Rosicky'll manage without his support.

So, in 90 minutes from now, at 0030 here, it'll be germany vs poland, I say 3-1. Lets hope I'm wrong, and it ends 5-0 :D

I sure wish we in the U.S.A were as wild about Soccer as you guys! Our game against the Czech team was embarassing! Maybe in a few years we'll recognize that it's a better game than Football or Baseball! But the TV people hate it because they can't bore us with commercials,so they won't support it. Damn shame!

Didn't US "soccer" get a shot in the arm last world cup? That's what we heard, atleast, with Landon Donovan promising to be back in '06, and take them all the way to the semi's. That's gonna be tough, with Italy, the Czech, and Ghana competing in Group E with the US.

I'm not usually mad about football, the only time I get worked up is during the world cup. Never had time for TV, to tell you the truth, and reading the newspaper is not what good schoolchildren do. Once I'm in college, though, you can bet I'll follow ManU's exploits to the end. Till then, its just the world cup. Infact, a small cutout showing Ballack, germany, the cup, the golden boot, and all the matches with the dates is the only poster that my dad has allowed me to put up on my bedroom wall. Heck, he was the one who did it. :D How can I not love football? :D

Cough cough hack hack.... Let me sing you a little tune Pisskiderino...

"Soccer Sucks! It really really sucks!" :P

And now...for some truthful quotes about "Soccer"....

"Soccer is like needing to get a boil lanced on your anal sphincter but the doctor tells you that you are allergic to the anesthetic. You'll do anything just to get it over."

"Twenty-one guys stand around and one guy does a tap dance with the ball."

"No, soccer is dull as dishwater and just because it stops camel traffic in Saudi Arabia doesn't mean we have to fall in line."

Six days and no sleep? Why, back in my day, we would go six weeks without sleep! We couldn't afford to sleep. We worked all day and all night! In a sweat shop! In 190 degree weather! With no air conditioning! And we wore heavy winter coats! And we liked it! :D
