Stans
I've been a fan of Netscape for a long time and I'm currently running version 7.2. Problem is with some of the new web content and forums not loading properly in Netscape 7.2. I can load them just fine with Internet Exploder 7.0 Beta 3, but IE has a history of leaving more openings for hackers, viruses, and worms than Netscape. I've researched Netscape 8.1, but it seems to have a spotty record for stability and speed. So I'm asking what browsers are the members of CSim using. Both are working very well. IE 7.0 Beta 2 even better than FF 1.5.
Stans
IE 7 is better? How so? And what about transferring bookmarks? I just installed FireFox 1.5.4, it automatically transferred bookmarks. It would be nice to have e-mail and browsing in one package, but preferably a package that is virus resistant like Netscape. Whizkid
IE6.0. There's a 7.0?
Stans
7.0 is in its third beta version. This is a precursor to the version that will come standard with Windows Vista.
Stans
In trying out FireFox I'm finding it's almost like Netscape, except: 1. New tabs do not open on top, but are background, not necessarily a bad thing, just different. 2. It loads pages faster. 3. When I want to check e-mail, it automatically opens my Netscape Navigator e-mail window. Basically, I'm liking this FireFox thingmie! So what's the down side? Downside to FF is that it doesn't work well with some websites. VillagePhotos site is one I use every day, but it hangs up on uploading photos to their site. They do not support FF. I asked this question to their support forum. Some other sites I frequent are the same way, and not everything is displayed. No biggie though. I feel the IE7 Beta 2 loads much faster. This is probably due to the fact that everything supports IE. And the fact it added tabbed browsing like FF is a big plus. As for my mail I use Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5.0.4. I hate Outlook Express! Stans
I know MS has added additional virus protection to IE 7, hopefully it is as good as Netscape, Mozilla, and FireFox. How do I import all of my bookmarks into IE? Nevermind, I figured it out.

No105_Archie
I'm still using IE . I download the upgrades regularly and have no issues. The company I work for always used Netscape, Mozilla, Sea Monkey etc but are soon switching to IE. The IT gurus there say that the latest versions of the netscape family are pretty much the same as IE as far as vulnerability is concerned. I have no idea ...just relaying waht I was told
Stans
Thanks to everybody's input. For now, I'll use IE 7 Beta3 for browsing and Thunderbird for e-mail.
