Donster
Exxon Mobil had record profits in its 4th fiscal quarter. The oil giant plans to pass on the good economic news to the customer at the pump. It will add a second squeegee.

Stans
Gasoline prices continue to drop, wonder what that's going to do to the old profit margin?
Donster
Gasoline prices continue to drop, wonder what that's going to do to the old profit margin? Down to $2.45 a gallon here yesterday. Amazing considering it is the Labor Day weekend.
Stans
Interesting, less oil coming out of Alaska, we are supposed to have a real tight supply of oil and gasoline, yet the prices continue to drop. This is contrary to the priciples of economics, unless the original price was inflated well beyond what the market demanded. Things that make you go "hmmmm". Donster
As of two or three days ago, I read where Gasoline stock was up. Not a glut mind you, but inventory was higher, due to refineries increasing output and demand dropping.
Stans
The demand is dropping? Where? I don't see a lot of economy cars being bought, but I still megatons of giant SUV's and trucks. What, nobody traveling on the Labor Day weekend? I doubt that. Maybe all the gulf coast refineries and oil platforms went online at the same time and flooding the market. I dunno, I'm starting to lean towards the theory that there was some price goughing for the past 12 months. This could also be a diversion to get the public's attention off of BP and their pipeline maintenance issues. Have I got the tin foil hat thing going today or what? They are talking $2.00 per gallon by Turkey Day. Of course, as soon as Mahmoud Ahmadickhead threatens to cut oil production, that will change...what time is it now? Well alot of friends I have talked to have cut back on driving as much as possible. Of course that probably isn't a good measuring tool since I have such few friends. Spectre_USA
It hasn't dropped worth scheiss out here in the West. The Alaskan pipeline dealio is allowing them to keep that hyper-inflated amount and run with it...
