Yawn.

Look lovely. Exquisite detail. Game features? Now that would be cool to know.

Features are more important to me than how pretty it looks. Don't get me wrong, I like the eye candy, I just think it's more important to have something to go with the eye candy than having the candy alone, know what I mean?

For example, Over Flanders Fields doesn't compare graphically with BoB, or even PF really in most areas, but the immersion level is 200% as high. It's 200% higher than stock CfS3 too but that's neither here nor there because at least CFS was open enough to allow something that immersive to be plugged into it.

If Oleg were smart he'd allow some opening up of things for BoB and the followons. If he wants to keep complete and utter control of flight models fine, if he wants to keep complete and utter control over the process of adding in new planes fine too, but if he even opened just a little door to allow not just user made missions and campaigns but allow people to put in things like war reports, semi-dynamic battle events, new squadrons and most importantly new maps to make a user made campaign more than just a set of missions with the same old boring parameters then it'd be worth picking up.

As it is right now I'm pretty much fed up with the Oleg Way of doing things and the prospect of BoB isn't really exciting me much at all.

I do agree with Skipper. It is fine that one person has control over the flight models, aircraft, and the game engine as this does help limit cheating. Opening the sim to theater developers is a good idea and you could have true experts on each theater crafting an add-on rather than a few people who know little or nothing about the theater they have been tasked with creating.

You mean like having someone that knows something about, oh say the Pacific creating the theatre for something called Pacific Fighters? I dunno, maybe I'm just crazy (okay so I know I am) but I get the distinct impression that whoever designed the campaigns (and decided which maps were needed) for Pacific Fighters got the entirety of their knowledge of the Pacific from a World Book encyclopedia article or something.
