Donster
Lottie sent this e-mail to me, it is the message she sent to her co-workers this morning... The French have Bastille Day, the Spanish have Cinco de Mayo, the United States has Independence Day and Norway has Syttende Mai! This is May 17, Norwegian Constitution Day, and is our celebration of independence from those evil Swedes,!! Uff da! Krumkake, a Norwegian pastry, is in the kitchen to enjoy in celebration of my heritage. It’s party time, Norwegian style! (Ja, ve gonne get down und funky, sur, ye betcha! Sven und Ole vil bring de lutefisk!) She was up late making the Krumkake last night. Crazy eh?

The Dude
I'm married to one of those evil Swedes! I took one look at lutefisk and said no thanks! What the hell were the Swedes thinking when they came up with that gelatinous stuff? It's partially decomposed fish for crying out loud. Some mortician must've invented the stuff because its preparation requires soaking the fish in lye. This is the same caustic lye you use to unclog plugged drains. The same lye farmers put on dead animals to make them rot faster. The same lye serial killers use to ... nevermind. Vile! Mind you, Gail's grandfather lived on the stuff and he passed away at age 94. Things that make you go hmm?
