No105_Archie
Spent the last 18 hours in hospital with a kidney stone attack....haven't had one for maybe 4 years. My wife and the ER nurse are the epitome of sympathy........"now you have some idea of what childbirth is like"
JClark
I've heard it's like peeing broken glass. Got a question for you, though: How many sodas do you drink each day? You see, the stuff that makes the fizz accretes in the kidneys and becomes kidney stones after a time. Got that from my mother, back when she was a nurse, and who had it told to her by the leading urologist in J-ville that Coca-Cola was his best friend. Water, tea, coffee, no problem...but mostly, lots of water. Boats, who really doesn't want to feel your pain
The Dude
I hope I never get one of those. My father had one, and he said it was one of the most painful things ever.
Donster
Never had that condition, and hope I never do. Used to work with a guy that was well over 6 foot, weighed probably 250. He got them twice in the 5 years I worked with him. The pain turned him ghost white and brought that big lug to his knees. Hope you get better quickly Arch. Gunny
Yep, been there done that. Lots of water. I'm a Coke Cola fiend. I just drink gallons of water to keep my kidneys clean.
Schatten
Owww, haven't had the pleasure of that, and hope I never do, but a few of my friends have gone through it so I know how horrible it can be. I drink probably 2 gallons of iced tea a day, that's what I've always drank the most of. That and water, usually I only drink a Pepsi or whatever with pizza. Stans
Yeah, soft drinks do increase the risk of kidney stones. Why? Phosphoric acid, it gives soft drinks an nice "stinging" taste, it also binds with calcium in the teeth and bones and removes it. The calcium is then excreted via the kidneys, or it gets trapped in the kidneys and begins to form kidney stones.
