Just for giggles and grins, and since I don't have the horsepower to run IL2-AEP, I fired up CFS2. Flew around and did a bunch of touch and go's with the 1% North American SNJ, then tried on the 1% Brewster Buffalo. All I can say is "torque monster"! The Wildcat is much easier to control than the Buffalo. Took a spin in the Corsair too, love that throaty roar of the P&W R-2800.

How does the Buffalo handle in AEP? Is it a torque beast with a turn radius that would make a dime jealous? It climbed like a rocket just as soon as the gear came up too.

I need to spend a little more time with the ol' flight sims!

:)

Rommel does just fine Thank you very much.

The Buff we have in the game is actually the B-239 that the Finns had. Let me tell you, we can give Zeros fits with those things. She don't climb that well, but when mixing it up with a Zeke, she's nearly on par with it. The actual Buffalo that the Navy and the Corps flew was weighted down with pilot armor, radios, etc. Made her a flying brick according to the pilots that flew her off Midway.
