Gunny
Word to the wise, and this guy to. Don't yell at bears and scare the cub. Patience and he might have avoided an un-pleasant encounter. Besides, If he's any kind of hunter, he'd have known that the deer aint coming anywhere near where a bear is. His hunting was shot as soon as they came out of the cornfield.

Stag
..Unless his bow and his arrowheads were good enough to take down a bear, in which case, fight it out on the ground. Preferably from a concrete bunker.
Spectre_USA
Even if you're bow hunting, it is always wise to carry a LARGE caliber handgun on your hip. Preferably with a stacked magazine, or a couple of speed loaders. Much better safe than sorry.
Stans
I think your best defense in bear country is a 44 magnum loaded with 300 grain solids. No hollow points, you need something that will penetrate deeply through tissue and bone. But his fatal mistake was yelling at the cub. Had he remained silent and motionless the bears would probably have never noticed him.
