Stans
With PCI Express in the wings for AMD processors and already available for Intel processors, I am going to wait until after the first of the year to build my new computer. I had actually started specing out an Intel processor PCIe machine until I read this article at Sharky Extreme. I think the AMD processors hold a good lead over Intel's when it comes to gaming and PCIe holds tremendous potential. http://hardware.earthweb.com/chips/article.php/3446781

Stans
I have tried both building a near top of the line rig, then upgrading again after three years and building a lower end machine and constantly upgrading. I think you end up spending just as much money, just spreading it out over a longer time period by constantly upgrading a marginal machine. It is easier on the hands and mind to build a near the top machine and upgrade only once.
