Stans
It's amazing what you will find when you start digging. I'm thinking about digging in my yard, looking for some oil.
No105_Archie
When the US bases closed down her in Nfld...there were all sorts of Jeeps, staff cars, fire trucks etc just bulldozed into pits most of them were in perfect running order. They could not be registered in Nfld and it was too expensive to ship them back to the states
Stans
There were so many vehicles and aircraft that were dumped into pits and buried or pushed over the sides of aircraft carriers after the war. Just a total waste of money and resources. At the time, no one wanted all that hardware, recycling was not in vogue, and I doubt that many thought about future museum displays. At least now we cut up old hardware and recycle the remains.
