Morning,

Cool (mid-50's), Cloudy, and wet.

Nice big light show last night. Had some jim-dandy T-showers roll thru with lots of lighting , hail, and rain. But at least the heat wave has broken so now we can get back to normal weather.

Finally finished table 2. As soon as I can get an extra pair of hands up here, I'll move it off the bench and start on finishing the chairs.

Morning. Windy and 81F today. Storms with heavy rain moving in. Water started going over the Coralville Dam Spillway last night around 9. Mass evacuations in many cities and towns in the state, including Cedar Rapids. Major railroad bridge washed away in Waterloo. It shut off major rail traffic to companies like John Deere, Tyson Foods and some ethanol plants in Northeast Iowa.

**An incredibly dangerous flooding situation is ongoing to the north, and imminent in the south. This is a historic event and catastrophic flooding will occur in many communities through the next week or longer. Area river levels are cresting higher than forecast and these levels have never been seen before. Please follow the request of city leaders if you are asked to evacuate. Also, do not drive or walk through floodwaters, as depths and road conditions will be unknown.**

If ya got any extra prayers lying around, toss out a few this way. A lot of people need them. What is sad is that many homes being flooded are not even in the flood plain. So they are going to loose everything with no insurance coverage.

Morning,

Sorry to hear about your flood woes there, Donnie. It's still raining here too. Each day I go out and look at the smaller of the two rivers that run through town here, and that thing is getting as high as 2005 levels when the reservoir went over the top of the Elbow river dam. So far, it's nothing near as bad as what you guys are going through. Hope things improve soon for you.

Do you think Al could be right? Naaaaaaaah!

Take care, Donnie, and put on your Wellies if you go out, eh? Better still a wet-suit!

Have a good Wednesday, y'all!

Yo...haven't had time to work on the Front Page News today. Working all day on taking down both computers, boxing up the remaining stuff in the computer room and the master bedroom, took the bed apart etc. Carpet getting installed in those rooms and closets tomorrow. Getting some help moving the heavy furniture this evening.

By 8pm all bridges over the Cedar River will be closed in town except for the I-380 bridge. Electricity and Gas has been shut off to all the downtown and in the 100 year flood plain. That looks to be expanded to the 500 year flood plain. Crest of the river is expected to be 5 feet higher then the record from back in 1929. National Guard called out all over the state. Cities calling for volunteers for sandbagging. I am worried that we will loose power, and the city water supply may become contaminated. This is just crazy.
