Back from Vegas

Only lost about $140 to gambling, spent about $300 on food and souvenirs. Damn, it's one expensive place and definitely not a place to go for a relaxing and restful vacation. It was fun, saw some interesting sights, toured the Hoover Dam. It's a damn big dam! Spent an evening down on Freemont Street, also known as old Vegas. Quite a light show after dark! All in all it was a good trip, except for the flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Vegas, only half a million people crammed into a Boeing 757. I prefer the McDonnell-Douglas Super 80's as the seats have better back support and there is more leg room. Any way, it was a fun trip, now we are back and I'm back at work.

Vegas was, indeed, pretty cool the first couple times I went there.

But I'd go down to Nellis AFB about once a quarter, and it started getting a bit old.

Hoover dam is, indeed, damed big, but the Grand Coulee up this away is even bigger!

Glad you didn't lose your life savings there, I know my 1st time I was out to win the whole town, and dropped ton.

The wife was not at all amused...

We should all meet there in November. The Nellis air show is one of the best, last show of the year for the Thunderbirds in front of family and friends and they do it right.

Oh and welcome back Stans.

I'll go for that!

Oh and welcome back Stans.

Either pick another month or have the T-Birds change their schedule, 'cause November is kinda a religious holiday up here;

I actually have family that lives in Vegas, we stay with them of course, but there's lots of good cheap places to stay. They have their ways of making you part with your money so rooms are pretty reasonable. Heh, for the wife it's the bloody outlet malls. Worse that any one armed bandit if you ask me. November is one of the nicest times of the year out there in the desert, 70's, sunny, just sweet. They day is a little short, starts getting dark 5:00 ish, last year the T-birds went on at about 2:00, with the Raptor and A-10 following. One of the last public appearances for the F-117 was just as it was getting dark. Only pain is that everyone has to park at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and take a bus to get back, that can be a real chore, but it's worth it.

See you there. We should make further arrangements as the time gets closer.
