..waaaake up! :)

It's been a long time since I've been lurking around here. Too long I think. :D

I've been working on some new cockpit goodies (and ignoring that poor F-15) and I wanted to point those interested to a new gimbal design for home built cockpits. The design uses inexpensive off the shelf parts and is freely available to anyone that wants to build one. :)

This gimbal design is going into my other project that you can see here:

Note that the video is from May and a few things have changed on the cockpit itself - including replacing all the hex head bolts with countersunk flat-head bolts. :)

Thanks for reading!

Hey Gene,

Damn straight, brother ... it has been too long

Good to see you're still up to your old homebrewed cockpit antics.

I watched your video, and the video of that laser cutter on the acrylic. That's a fantastic bit of kit.

That acrylic is durable enough for the gimble, huh? Very neat-o.

...which still isn't done yet. :)

The acrylic gimbal box was discarded in favor of the "Jentron" design. The Jentron Mk II can be built from parts ant any Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

For those interested, this is what the completed assembly looks like:
