Why Microsoft Windows 7 XP Mode Is a Major Advancement

MS is shipping 7 with a virtual machine version of XP on the desktop. So it's not a "mode;" rather, it's a self-contained XP OS complete with SP3 running inside Windows 7. It's actually a good idea and will eliminate backward compatibility issues forever. They might as well include virtual OS versions of everything back to Windows 3.11 as far as I'm concerned. I could then reinstall all those crappy MS word processing programs that created docs with obscure file extensions and get back all those old records and documents I have entombed on 3.5" floppies taking up space in my basement
