Hey there. I had a similar problem last week, but apparently it doesn't happen to everyone. Try accessing the downloads through a proxy like this one http://eu.smarthide.com/ Don't forget to ch

I solved. I went into settings and set the resolution to 1920x1080 (the same resolution as desktop) and written in this way does not blink anymore.

while we have wanted to show you the settings that I have right now and that is:

is there any parameter that I can modify to make the game even better?

Since you're using a 1080p resolution, you may want to try nGlide. It's a newer Glide wrapper than dgVoodoo, and it runs faster with similar quality. It's also the opinion of some that it upconverts the text better on resolutions other than 1600x1200. Otherwise, as long as you have smooth gameplay, the settings you displayed are optimal.

I want to join you guys for a fly in, but worried about looking like a fool as I just started learning this Sim... LOL

Don't worry too much about it. We fly cooperative, and we're a patient bunch. You'll learn a lot by joining us, and we won't humiliate you (that's what we have Wombat for :popcornsmilie: ).

 : ........ Hey!!! ..... wait a minute that's me your talking about!!!

Iceman, you have to give it go. My first TAW2.0 MP flight, I did literally run into a hanger when taxiing. And anyway ...... my understanding of the taxiway includes the grass. ;) That's why we have "No Collisions on Ground" activated. It gives me some chance to at least to get into the air. Remember TAW2.0 MP is not Falcon 4AF territory. The sim. is much more friendly to fly. That's why I'm here. I can at least land my F22 with confidence. (No offense ..... I love Falcon 4AF but gees its hard .....)

In all seriousness you will learn and enjoy so much more about TAW and TAW2.0 through MP. As the boys will tell you and as you see here at the forum, I'm always asking questions. The boys here take so many things for granted, so I just pick their brains. They do things I would never have thought about.

For example, what about using <2> <4> <1> to get your AI escort package operative;

or <TAB> <7> to get your reluctant AI wingmen into the air;

or what "Going Defensive!"means :(

or how to fly 1 v 1 just using cannon (thanks Neph). :P

Let alone the thrill during a formation take-off with 3 three other real MP pilots, praying your Lead authorizes autopilot ("3......2......1 ....... engage Autopilot") quickly once in the air.

Or in a "furball" against the enemy hearing Battie yelling out "I'm out of Chaff and Flares!!!!!" with the usual response "........ not again Battie ......"

Get your self setup with TS3, follow the threads here and here, post questions at the forum, join half an hour before MP takeoff time, etc and you'll have a ball.

EDIT: Oh ..... and I fully endorse what Tiger say here. Don't come in totally cold. ;)

One more thing about the training missions: many of them are hard! Don't feel like you need to successfully complete the training mission in order to be ready. Just use the training missions to get proficient with the systems. Handling what the system throws at you is why you have MP wingmen.

ok. I downloaded and installed, I have to do something else and this is enough to have already activated?

Browse/Read the TAW2.0 Manual Addendum. There's heaps of good stuff in there. Get familiar with the Launcher. Its where everything runs from: Running TAW2.0, setups, tweaks, options, manuals, strategies ...... Sorry if you're totally new to TAW browse/read the original manual. Its in the Reference Section of the TAW2.0 Launcher. Oh ........ and welcome.

Short answer for now: go back into the Configuration screen of the Launcher and set the EXE to "Other Glide Wrapper" use the path from your nGlide shortcut in the corresponding text box. Then you can tweak your nGlide settings using the same 3DFX logo.

You must change the EXE at a minimum. The EXE is the same, but the other selection removes dgVoodoo from your TAW 2.0 folder, which will allow you to use nGlide.

Long answer: Wombat is right. Take a look at the manual addendum. There is a lot of good stuff in there.

ok, I should have done it properly by starting the game appears 3dfx logo.

I did not understand this part, maybe problems in the translation. Do you explain better?

However using nGlide no longer can set the resolution to 1920x1080 because clicking on "Configure Glide Wrapper" started installation of the nGlide and at the end I can not display the menu where you can choose the resolution, in short, no longer displays this menu ( http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/24/30494320.jpg/ - http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/820/83559062.jpg/ ).

I should have explained better. When you select a new EXE, in this case you will select the Glide EXE using "Other Glide wrapper", as shown below:

gallery_1267_7_15632.jpg

Once you have selected this option, click on the box with "...", which will allow you to select your glide wrapper configurator. The one that is shown is nGlide if you use a 32 bit operating system. Either way, you can find where the nGlide_config.exe is by checking the shortcut that was installed with nGlide.

Once this option is selected and saved (click the F-22 icon), you can click on "Configure Glide Wrapper" to adjust your nGlide settings.

perfect, I resolved. Thank you.

But I still have 2 little questions:

1) I can play online with F22 TAW v.2.20a?? if so, is there any thread in this forum where you can organize online matches?

2) In the past I played with F22 ADF but can not remember which was the combination of keys to steer the engines and then to steer the plane faster.

Yes. Twice a week, including at the time of this writing

Go to the references screen on the TAW Launcher. There are three versions of the keyboard/control summary on the top row.

Hope to have you join us.

In the past I played with F22 ADF but can not remember which was the combination of keys to steer the engines and then to steer the plane faster.

As far as I know,, the throttles work as one.

You can shut an engine down,

( right engine down is , keyboard ] )

( left engine down is , keyboard is [ )

You can yaw your F22 by shutting one engine or the other down.

If you take on damage you can monitor your engines with the "Autopilot MFD"

I read that list of commands but I have not found what I say. May be that I remember not correctly. Do you know something about it?

Read my post above or join us for a ride.

Do you know why you or others are reluctant to fly with us online?

Thanks to all, for all the encouragement. I will be trying to hone my skills before I join a fly-in. Getting married Oct 8th and there's tons of things to be done and it's hard to find spare time to fly :( .

I'm in Italy and if I understand it the only time that would be good for me is Sunday at 20:00. Thursday, that saw the other day when you fly, to me are the 3:00 and it's too late .

I tried but the effect is not what I remember. However, to understand what I mean look at this video (

) from the minute 3:59, there you see what I mean by the orientation of the engines.

If I remember correctly you can do so in the F22 TAW.

Somehow I knew someone would find a joke in that...!! LOL

As I see things Battie she's the best game in town with full joystick support right out of the box. Try topping that one..!!

 Love it!!! In all seriousness, we'll all be thinking of you on the 8th. Have a fantastic day.
