Hello guys.

Is there a Virtual Reality Project for F22 TAW?

I know that Vorpx Project is enable a lot of games for VR (Rift, Vive, Gear...), but it seems that F22 Taw stayed out of it.

I beleave that F22 TAW in VR could be very cool, for shure!

Totally agree with Duplex, it would give him a new youth. 😃
A guy has managed to run FalconBMS in VR with opentrack, can be this is possible with TAW.🤨
I tried it with Falcon but I do not understand how to use it.🙄

Hello,

I need general technical answers...

In which programming language TAW 2.30 final has it been developed ?

I'm running debian 9.5 version with wine, I need the sources of the TAW 2.30 final release, in order to compile it to build a native version for my system, it would be the best solution. Except someone has encountered the same running issues and have the solution to make TAW work properly on wine ??

By the way, depending on the programming language, I guess it is possible to run TAW 2.30 on any kind of system, with the appropriate compiler.

Could you help me finding the sources ? Or a solution ?

Thank you for everything !

I have no idea if the source code of TAW still exists. Most of the TAW 2.30 enhancements are related to data files and apart from some hex editing, the binary is the same that was compiled by DiD back in 1998.

I couldn't get TAW to work in Wine with the default settings either, but I didn't look too hard into finding a solution.

Wine is probably the best route to TAW on Linux (or whatever) though.

Hello mikew; I've been trying to run F-22 TAW 2.30 on my laptop on windows 10 for about a week to no avail. Installed it, tried every glide wrapper and it still gives me the '800x600 resolution is required' error anytime i click the f-22 to start the game. Any guide on how to get it running again? i miss this sim....

A Glide wrapper isn't going to have any effect on that as the 800x600 resolution is needed for the game GUI elements.

Whether or not your machine supports this resolution depends on its graphics driver.

I has this problem with a Microsoft Surface which had Intel HD4000 graphics. Luckily for me, a driver update fixed things.

This is only going to get worse over time, so we'll probably end up needing to use some sort of wrapper like DxWnd. Whether that would work with TAW, I don't know.

If you have Intel graphics it might be possible to set a custom resolution via its control panel.

Once you past the menus and into the 3D world you can set a Glide wrapper to any resolution you like. I've just been watching the TAW demo at 1920x1080 on a 47" TV. :)

Probably just the 'players' folder.

and the players.lst file

There is a utility that will zip it for you.  In the TAW Launcher, go to "Graphics and Applications Configuration".  Then the icon in the lower left is to back up and restore pilots.  It will create a zip for you with what you need, then you can use the same utility to import the players on your new PC.
