Old Guy Posted March 6, 2010 Report Share Posted March 6, 2010 The pilot did good, but as usual, the news media missed part of the story. There are two pilots in a Chinook. So it's not as if the other pilot couldn't have flown the ship. In fact, he probably did. The complicating factor was when the SAS was shot out. Then it takes both pilots to keep control of the bird. The wounded pilot provided muscle while the other one did the flying -- I'd be willing to bet on it. Regardless, the media managed to screw up a good story. Again!
