All of the local school systems are closed or at least on a two hour delay this morning, so the drive into the office will be a breeze. The schools made their decisions last night, just in time to get their info onto the six o'clock evening news. It's not actually snowing here, but it should start... eventually... maybe later this morning... who knows? I find it quite fascinating that the same people that shut down the entire education system as well as many local government offices at the forecast of snow could not do the same last year when it was snowing heavily and the roads were coated in snow and ice. Today as a added feature to my morning drive to work, there was a 7 car pileup on the Deerfoot (the city's main freeway), and as a sideshow for us bored drivers crawling along at 1mph, two gentlemen were throwing fists at one another, while ambulances, firefighters, and police were scrambling around.
