Stans
Plural! A pair of Goodyear F2G Super Corsairs in the air together. Race 74 now has its engine problems under control. Bob Odegaard (owner of F2G Race 57) piloted 74 at Reno this year and 74 was fast... a bit over 380 mph fast! Unfortunately, Race 74 did not get to compete, the tragic crash of Jimmy Leeward canceled the rest of the races. Here is some amateur video of qualifying, Race 74 appears at 1:25. More, very amateur video of 57 and 74. 74 was running a bit rich and was fouling her plugs. http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/c91/b25guy/?action=view¤t=00003.mp4 http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/c91/b25guy/?action=view¤t=00004.mp4 And a still photo of 57 and 74 in formation. http://aafo.com/hangartalk/attachment.php?attachmentid=17928&d=1325043768
The Dude
Those Corsairs are beauties, but dayum! there were some other very pretty aircraft in that 15-minute video as well. Who knew all those Sea Furys were so quick? ... and the F8F Bearcat was cookin' too. The F7F-3N Tigercat is a beast And 499.16 MPH in that P-51D that set the new qualifying speed record ... that's smokin' fast!

Zhat ist nicht ekzeptable. Maybe Itchie was piloting that FW-190. No, couldn't be. He would have crashed and burned.
