Good day,

I am seeking advice into which sim would best help me get back to the era I should have been born in.

I am looking for a WWII simulator weather flight or fight, that offers an immersion within the community as well as historical scenarios as well.

TIA

Welcome to CSim!

IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 immediately springs to my mind for World War II action. It still has a significant online community and there are offline campaigns available. I think the most recent version is 4.11. If you really like it, you might try some of the modified versions as well. There are two major mod packs. UltraPack gives you the most in terms of additional maps, aircraft and weapons. HistoMod does not have nearly as many extra aircraft or weapons, but has a very dedicated following and claims to strive for the highest degree of historical accuracy, hence the name HistoMod.

Welcome aboard, Snoopy! Yep, Stans is quite right, and your best bet is to Google it on Wikipedia to get all the info. It just so happens that we have a great bunch of guys on our site, VMF-124, which you can join and fly with if you desire. We're hot on F4U Corsairs. Contact the Forum admin for info. See you in the virtual skies!

(BTW, my wife'll kill you if she sees your Header. She's Latina, so it's Por Favor to her!)

Thanks all.

My apologize to the Latina about, the chic who taught me was not so much as teacher as she was a looker.

The IL sounds fun, isn't PF a tad out dated though?

Any sub or naval sims out there?

Any of the Silent Hunter games should be good for you. Give III and IV a look, depending on whether you want to sink tonnage for the USN or Kriegsmarine.

I also second (third?) the recommendation for IL-2 1946. The engine may be old, but it does a lot of things well and looks great doing it. I've put almost 400 hours into the series, and I barely scratched the surface. Besides, you can find it for under $10, which is a steal considering the 1946 edition when separated out (IL-2 FB, Aces XP, PF, PE-2, 1946) came out to $130 and was still worth it.

SH is interesting for sure, but for me it is best to sim within a community you interact with.

For sure whatever I do, it will be for the US..
