Donster
Morning all. Clear skies and 7F with -4F windchill. Got a couple inches of snow yesterday. High of 40F today just to melt that crap away. Guy coming to fix the water dispenser on our fridge this morning. It drips like Itchie's crotch after a weekend on the Ginza. "Paging Dr. Katzenjammer. Paging Dr. Katzenjammer. Penicillin injection for Drippy Crotchie Room 2 please."
Stans
Morning y'all, 31F and three forecasts floating on the airwaves this morning. A. Rain and snow mixed, no accumulation. B. Light snow, up to 1 inch accumulation. C. Moderate to heavy snow, up to 3 inches accumulation. Take your pick.

Stans
Absolute insanity! My patients canceled late morning and afternoon appointments, local schools announced a 2 hour delay before the first flakes fell, then when it did start snowing they announced they were closed for the day. It's now 42F, the "snow storm" was here from 0745 to 0845, there was almost enough snow to put a dusting on the grass, now it's all gone and the roads are dry! I've spent my life living in the central Virginia area. Back when I was in school this sort of thing would not have resulted in any change in schedules. People are insane these days. Or maybe they are just stupid?

Donster
EXACTLY what Whizkid said. It's the lawsuit effect.
Stans
Sadly, yes, it is the threat of lawsuits that makes schools close even when there is just a slight threat of bad weather in the forecast. It's just stupid.
