Donster
Pope John Paul II is conscious and has been given last rites He's a tough old bird. Prayers be with him.
Chopper
Inspite of my views on the Church, his policies and religion in general, I have nothing but admiration and respect for him. 3rd longest reign after Peter and one of the Pius's, he's left his mark and I hope a model for future Pontiffs. Stans
Yeah, he was and is remarkable. It is looking like it is the end for him, poor health and advanced age are never a good combination.
Baltar
I respect the man's multilingual talent especially, I think he is fluent in at least 7 languages. His determination to carry out his life's duty to the very end is impressive too.

Baltar
With most public figures these days given a temporary sort of status, election terms, short lived fame, etc, the exception being royalty, it is strange to see an icon like that go. Shepherd
S! To the Pope. He was a man of conviction and did not skirt the hard issues of the day. I pray for him, his staff as well as the church as they transition to grife, and remembering their leader to the the transition of a new leader. No105_Ogdens
Although I'm not catholic one cannot help but feel sad over the loss of such a compassionate, caring and influencial man. An era has ended and I feel that a void has been left that will be hard to fill in human terms, there just seems to be too few good men at this present time in history. Ogs.
