Icy Friday Weather

30F with freezing rain, 19F wind chill. Freezing drizzle and freezing rain have created a light glaze on roads across much of eastern Iowa. Elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses are especially prone to icing. A mix of rain, freezing rain, and freezing drizzle is possible through Friday's morning commute so make sure to give yourself some extra time to get to work. Some light snow will also mix in with the freezing rain early Friday. By mid-morning, most of the moisture will switch over to snow. Light snow or flurries are still possible through Friday afternoon with less than an inch of accumulation. Temperatures will be colder with highs in the mid 20s.

Cold. Lots of snow. Dark.

-12C/11F at the the moment. -15C with the windchill.

Actually sort of balmy given the -35C with the windchill we had the other day.

Road conditions are atrocious. Side roads are rutted and intersections are polished ice. Main roads have been plowed, but the bridges are icy as heck.

Could do with a bit o' global warming right now.
