Morning. Well at 03:55 AM we have clear skies and -15F, with no wind chill. A fun weekend and first of next week is shaping up...

We are waking up to teens below zero (and in some areas, even around -20!). South winds will pick up this morning with gusts to 25mph, resulting in additional wind chill concerns today. Watch for areas of blowing snow today too, especially in wide open areas. A snow chance still exists this weekend with a Tr-2" possible at this time. The main focus is still on brutally cold air set to arrive later Sunday and last through Tuesday morning. We are likely to see wind chills in the -40 to -50 range on Monday morning, and with lows in the -20s, this could be deadly to pets and possibly livestock without proper shelter. Exposed skin will probably be damaged in about 5 minutes. After Tuesday, things do get a bit better with a snow chance by Wednesday and highs back into the teens.

The high temperature today was 34F, set in the wee hours of the morning. The temperature now is 30F and will fall to 13F tonight. Expecting severe cold weather for at least the next 10 days.

And on a lighter note, this morning I found that someone had reset the timer on the coffee pot and had evidently put milk in the sink without rinsing it out of the trap. Nothing like the smell of soured milk to start the day. I'm sure no one will have any knowledge of how this happened either. <_<
