After a cool start, highs will rebound nicely into the upper 40s in many areas. Due to dry vegetation, strong winds, and very low humidity, there is a higher than normal risk of grass fires this afternoon. Moisture will be arriving later this evening into Thursday and this will all be in the form of rain. Talked to a guy yesterday who works for an excavating company. I asked him how much ground thaw we had so far. He told me about a foot and a half down, until they hit frost. The frost then goes down another 4 1/2 to 5 feet at that point.
