Morning all. 69F under scattered clouds. High humidity and warm temperatures will be with us to start the week. Highs are going to climb well into the 80s today, producing a heat index of at least the middle 90s. We should see a partly sunny sky today. There's a very slight chance of an evening storm, but if anything forms, it would be very isolated. We'll stay warm and muggy tonight with lows in the 70s.

I report for Jury duty this morning. Hope I don't get selected. I mean, seriously, would any of you want me on the jury hearing your case???

Well...look what the Vulture just regurgitated. It's Heine Lick.

I was one of the last twenty-five selected for interrogation...I mean questioning by the County Prosecutor and the Defense Attorney. Wasn't picked, but was an interesting case and learning experience. I really didn't want to go through the hassle, but as time went on, I actually wanted to be selected. Probably why I didn't. But, losing a whole day wasn't worthless.

Gawd help the defendant!

I can see it now....................."Clear the Courtroom! Juror No. 7 has emitted a noxious gas, and we'll break until the fumes dissipate sometime tomorrow!"

No worries Whiz. The Court had previous knowledge of my abilities and found the old Civil Defense store room and broke out enough gas masks for everyone. Oh and the 1951 Cheese and Crackers they served for lunch weren't to bad. We got to wash it down with canned water from 1954. I think that the food having been underwater in the basement of the Courthouse during the Great Flood of 2008 probably improved the flavor.

Without a doubt!

Kind of a strange place to build important Government Buildings and Records, isn't it?

That flood would, I would think, make the Planners and Politicians a mite nervous!

Come to think of it, it's a stupid place!

Wonder who made the most money from it!

The Courthouse was built in 1923. The city was established in 1838. Never had been a flood that came even close to the building until 2008. Considered to be a "500 year" flood event.

Ok, that makes sense. It's unlikely that the structures will remain until the next flood event.
