Morning all. 26F under clear skies. Under a Winter Storm Warning until noon tomorrow. Plan on clouds to build this morning with snow moving in from the west this afternoon. While this may start as a rain/snow mix initially, we will see a transition to all snow very quickly. Heavy snow is expected with up to 6-9". There is a potential that the heavy snow band may become even more concentrated in spots tonight, leading to a few 10" amounts as well. Wind will pick up behind this and temperatures should steadily drop from tonight through Saturday night. Today's high should reach 39F.

A winter storm already?  Isn't it a bit early for that stuff?

Always to early for me. March would be better. But it isn't real early for November. In November 1978, we had a much worse storm than this one. My dad died that November, and the day after his burial was the day the storm hit. Ended up being a real snow filled winter '78-'79. Seemed to snow every few days. Had to have a buddy of mine bring his grandfathers tractor with a front end loader on it to move the snow back further into my yard and moms yard, as couldn't throw the damn snow high enough anymore. And it seemed to always be a wet, heavy snow that year too. Not the nice powdery stuff.

7 1/2 inches of snow now on the ground. But the snow has stopped falling. Now waiting for the winds to start picking up. Just finished shoveling off the deck.

I hate winter. Death to snow!
