Blizzard Watches, Winter Storm Warnings/Advisories have been posted for much of Eastern Iowa starting early Tuesday morning until Wednesday morning. Snow will fall across eastern Iowa through the early morning hours, but the snow will turn to rain in our southeastern counties Tuesday night. 2-4 inches is expected around the Cedar Rapids area. High temp today around 35F. Less snow predicted than earlier reports, but could become more of an ice event. I hate ice more than snow. The commute this morning and throughout the day will likely be impacted as roads will become icy and snow-covered. Additionally, strong winds will increase the concern for blowing and drifting snow Tuesday night and Wednesday. Wind gusts of 40-50 MPH are expected.
