JClark
Title says it all!!! Go Mark!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yup, ol Mark run a damn fine race, and Greg Biffle had a monster of a car...don't think anything could have beat him, not even Jimmy Johnstons ego...damn the bad luck, Jeff Gordon got nudged into the wall, ol Tony's meds must have run out on him...and what the hell was my guy, Ryan, thinking, when he did a gas and go? "Yes, I want to slip from 5th to 8th"? Boats
Mako
This year Johnson and Gordon have been blocking like crazy just to name the big offenders. They deserved to get spun if you ask me. If you have a slower car get the hell out of the way. I'm not talking about moving over and letting someone else win. I am talking about "Hey (insert name here) is running a second a lap faster than me I think I'll let him pass." As opposed to "Hell with them I'll run them all over the track and hold them up." A little common courtesy. Thats all....
Shepherd
They both expect you to move over. I remember a few years back JJ telling his sponsor to ask Rusty to move over for him for position. Yeah right. Biffle is the man if you ask me.
Stans
Biffle is certainly a rising star. Seems to me he started his career fabricating cars. So few drivers today even know how to turn a wrench. Yeah, slower cars need to get out of the way or they will get the chrome plated horn and be moved out of the way. Jeff Gordon set himself up for that meeting with the wall and Tony Stewart is only too willing to oblige in those desires. So you had the right combination together for a few seconds and that's all it takes. Seems to me ol' Jeff and Tony have a history of rubbing fenders and bumpers. And Ryan, yeah, when he pitted only for gas I was thinking "would it have taken that much longer to get two right side tires?" He's a college grad, engineering, but the only thing that move engineered was a move towards the back of the field.
Joker
Yep, good day for Ford! I like Biffle. In the winner's circle, he said some nice things about our troops. Dunno about Stewart pushing Gordon. Like Mako said, if you don't give way on these short tracks, you gotta expect some bumps. To quote the film, rubbin' is racin'. So, I've been away from NASCAR for twenty years or so, but tell me this -- could they run a Mustang body, if they wanted to? I mean, a Mustang and a Monte Carlo are roughly the same size, now. Or is a Taurus just the most aerodynamic Ford body out there?
Stans
It's all controlled by NASCAR these days. The term stock car racing is very misleading as there is nothing stock about these cars.
Joker
It's all controlled by NASCAR these days. The term stock car racing is very misleading as there is nothing stock about these cars. Yeah, believe it or not, Stans, at B&N on Sunday I actually picked up NASCAR for Dummies, just to get myself back up to speed. Mark Martin wrote the book, too! Of course, there never was much stock about those cars even when I was watching NASCAR back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It must be difficult to get a new body style into NASCAR these days. Man, there are so many rules. It's sorta like the NFL. The league doesn't want any single team to dominate. No more Richard Pettys, I guess. That's sort of a shame. Jeez, though, can't Ford do better than the Taurus, America's rental ride? Well, maybe NASCAR isn't the image Ford wants for the Mustang. They're racing Mustangs on the Grand Am circuit, which is "sportier," I suppose. Still, I'd love to see Greg Biffle blowing past a Monte Carlo in a Mustang ... Stans
Up through the 1980's NASCAR was basically using factory bodies on the cars, then Ford dropped the Thunderbird and petitioned NASCAR to allow their two door Taurus. Ever see a two door Taurus? Me neither. There was a time when stock car racing was just that, modified cars right off the show room floor.
