Donster
66F under scattered clouds. Big temperature change from yesterday. Warm, muggy and breezy. Chance of storms early, again late. Winds out of the South at 20-30 with higher gusts. High of 85F. Back down to the upper 50's tomorrow. Off to Des Moines this morning to pick up Lottie's sister and her husband. They are flying in from Pennsylvania for a 5 day visit. Why fly into Des Moines when Cedar Rapids has a very large airport? Southwest doesn't service Cedar Rapids. They were able to by round trip tickets to Des Moines for $139 a piece. With United, American or Delta, the price would have been close to $400 a piece. Not to mention what they charge for luggage, phone in ticket purchase, and breathable air.
Stans
The downside to the low cost carriers is that they serve fewer cities than the high cost carriers. As for the extra charges, the big airlines have to pay those union salaries somehow.
