Nothing we haven't already covered amongst ourselves, but a decent article, nonetheless. In particular, I appreciated his comments about brevity and briefing text. I'd go a bit further and counsel keeping the text to a single screen. Anything more is overkill.

Placing planes in a corner of the map to preload the players for dogfights was a neat idea. Never heard that one before. It is supposed to stop the pause when someone joins the map.
