Stans
Lockheed's PV-1 and PV-2 Ventura. First link is a great article on the PV-1 and VB-142 in combat. http://www.flightjournal.com/articles/ventura/ventura_1.asp Second link is just one page and shows a restored PV-2. http://www.warbirdalley.com/pv2.htm
Donster
Is that what is in the flyover in the movie trailer for "The Great Raid"? It is towards the end of the trailer. It isn't B-25's, I'm sure of that.
Stans
I dunno, lemme see if I can find the trailer. I haven't paid that much attention to it on tv.
Stans
I found the full trailer here http://www.empiremovies.com/movie-trailers...hegreatraid.htm That plane could be a Lockheed model 14, 18 or PV-1. I am sure it is one of these three based on the exact configuration of the tailplane. Between these three, it is almost impossible to tell the difference from that particular camera angle. The PV-1 was a slightly larger and armed version of the 18, the 18 was a slightly larger version of the 14, but they all shared the same basic design and shape. Stans
See? Vital service, nearly forgotten. How many aviation sims, combat or civil, have a PV-1 or PV-2 Ventura? Yeah, they all have the B-25 (none are painted as Navy or Marine PBJ's) and the A-20, but no PV-1's or 2's. These things cruised at 170 MPH and topped out at 330 MPH, pretty fast for a bomber! Twitch
Impossible to tell details of sub-model but it's a Hudson for sure. One of them bombed the U-570 into surrender in 1941 for the first capture of a U-boat.
